have you ever read
Franken Fran? it's one of my favorite series. it's so dark and different from what i've seen before. and i love science, especially mad science and bio-med/tech. i've jokingly credited it with getting me over my fear of blood. but that manga DEFINITELY isn't for everyone.
as long as i'm here; anyone care to recommend things similar in theme to Franken Fran? i'm running out to good stuff to read... oh! recommendations for mad scientist movies work as well.
things i like in Franken Fran are:
philosophy: author explores the nature of mankind and existence. willing to explore the dark side of humanity as well.
Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is a good example of the softer side of this if you are interested.
mad science and medical science: does it so well. the author has clearly done his/her homework on a wide variety of subjects.
female lead, who is awesome.
i'm looking for stories in which the mad scientist is the main char/driver of story.
and finally, it has great art.
this is probably a tall order. sorry. i just don't see many series out there like this and they are hard to find. the mad scientist is always a side char for some reason or other.
BTW, you should check out
Arthur Pyuty the Night Witch. same author, but peoples only translated three chapters into english. i wish i could read the rest.
