I was going to say, it seemed she forgot she was a big deal now.

I sense a catfight will happen. Or maybe that's just my wish.

I love the blissful smile on Sandra's face in the last panel!

Let’s face it, this comic is basically an extended string of interlocking catfights.

But anyhow... It seems that Sandra’s fame isn’t local to Montreal. It’s surprising that it’s taken her this long to get back to Paris. And she’s fully capable of standing up to Zoé when she tries now, while Zoé is still being written as a stubborn fool at times.

But I’m not actually quite convinced by the depiction of fame and its functioning.

Maybe with Eva. I think Sandra is the only person Marie will talk to.

She's busy doing her job.

She was busy in that year, getting famous. No time for Paris.

Concur. Sandra needed that fame if she were to do anything in Paris. She could have saved up money a her other job, but it would not have had the same impact.

My headcanon is that Sandra was already somewhat of a name and Zoe, intentionally or no, had kept her too insulated from the world to realize it. Not a *huge* name, but known enough in the industry that working only French-language media in Quebec would be slumming for her; for one thing, she was probably still under contract to Dark Matter for Carmen Chamelia, so they were almost certain to come looking for her to promote a DLC release, and once people realized she had no *serious* behavioral problems (and let's be honest, in any industry where Naomi Campbell could have had a long, productive career, "serious" would have to be Gia Carangi-level wild), she'd be moving back up the ladder in a real hurry. (She might have trouble finding dates though, given the rumors about her and a certain up-and-coming talent in the women's pro wrestling circuit.)

I'd have thought that would give her a significantly greater chance of dates -- with partners of both sexes -- though not necessarily with the most likable prospects. Some people would just like the third-hand glamour and notoriety rubbing off, and others would want to know how they measured up by comparison to The Best. And lesbians would be interested in someone with that much fame who might swing their way, while some straight male jerks would doubtless believe that they could convert her.

Entertaining headcanon, anyway, and not implausible. Certainly we saw Dark Matter Montreal snapping her up.

I suppose you're correct.

I will say that I can easily imagine what kind of a weird-ass conversation Sandra would wind up having walking into a small agency in Montreal -- why is she looking to work conventions and low-end catalogs when she has a global ad campaign with Ubisoft, er, Dark Matter currently ongoing? For that matter, I could imagine her old boss at not-Hooters being absolutely bewildered at her reappearance, especially now that all of the customers are going to be like "Um... is our waitress Carmen Chamelia?" "Um... nnnnooo... her name is Sandy..."

Yeah. Zoé's plan should logically rather trip up over the fact that Sandra already had some degree of global fame (albeit perhaps transient), and presumably some kind of written contract with Dark Matter. I mean, Zoé may have invoked some kind of get-out clause on the latter, but it would hardly be good for her reputation in the business.

But Zoé's plan didn't make sense in all kinds of ways, so whatever, I guess.
