By shutting up Tatiana, they begin an easier process to lift the sofa.... in a sense.
(It's better to have someone sitting on that sofa than having someone yelling at you as you try to carry it up on some steps... maybe? Sort of? Kind of? I dunno, I'm not the writer!!)
