"Each" means "both", note. And Dilly is (a) the title character of the comic, (b) the man she has closest to hand most of the time, and (c) a professional actor who should be able to perform for the camera. I won't say that Mr. Freud is wrong, necessarily, but I'd put any theories on hold for the time being.

But Oh, Ruby indeed. People are going to start being careful what they say around her. She's learning to exploit her air of vulnerable cuteness a little too well. If she's not careful, people will start being careful about offering her their friendship, just as she's getting the hang of making friends.

Which is the other thing here, of course; she's still not sure that she has any friends, even though both Zii and Dillon have used the word. The poor kid had a lonely adolescence, and she's still working out how to operate the most basic social life.

Oh yes, and the other other thing here; Ruby in that plain dress. Ye gods, she can rock the understated and respectable look.

Granted, it's taking a somewhat different turn than she expected. She probably thought she'd be neck deep in boring meetings by this time. Instead she's found something she enjoys and is having fun. Lucky girl.

And she'll probably make serious coin on this! She's got a bona fide movie star posing for her calendar!

I can already imagine the complaints, but Ruby asked permission and so far her models agreed. She may be exploiting her limited friendship a bit, but Dillon looks like he is having a better time when he is not posing with the boy he used to babysit and Andy is clueless enough that he probably will not mind much. If this is going to be a calendar that features Dilllon every month then she will not have a problem filling up the months, but if she wants other men involved she might have to work to get their involvement. If her dream is to recreate that yaoi daydream from the bonus strip then getting Jerzy will be the biggest challenge. Gary is a pushover and Matt would just love an opportunity to show off the goods.

Yeah, she was seemingly feeling kind of pestered by Andy, though she's evidently been coming round to the idea that he's mostly harmless and possibly even a friend. But she did spend a lot of volume 1 being bounced into stuff by other people, including Andy (though he didn't mean to offend); now, she's the one doing the bouncing. I'm not sure that the other people have very much right to complain.

Yeah - like Gary before her, Ruby is finding the butt monkey status doesn't have to be permanent, once you've learned to play the hand you're dealt - and she's better at being proactive than Gary. She ended volume 1 thinking that things had to change, and now they're changing.

That's the other good reason for her to put Dillon in every shot. If she sells this as "The Official Dillon O'Brien Calendar 2016", she can tell him that the production costs need to come out of his promotional budget...

Two weeks sounds about right, comic time. Real-world time, it's just over a year since Andy appeared in Ruby's dreams, a bit over 18 months since he was around in the flesh.

She may be exploiting her limited friendship a bit, but Dillon looks like he is having a better time when he is not posing with the boy he used to babysit and Andy is clueless enough that he probably will not mind much.

Plus, people in this setting tend to be quite forgiving, and Ruby's subjects are, in general, people who wish Ruby well. All my comments elsewhere notwithstanding... They might feel a little bemused, but if she seems to be scoring some kind of success out of this, I think that most of them will grin ruefully, raise their glasses to her, and expect an invitation to the launch party - not hold anything against her.

If this is going to be a calendar that features Dilllon every month then she will not have a problem filling up the months, but if she wants other men involved she might have to work to get their involvement.

That may, of course, be the thematic joke of the next few strips. However, Ruby only knows a few guys at all well enough to try this sort of thing with them. Ray is the only other one who it should be fairly easy to recruit at present. I suspect that the calendar will feature a certain amount of repetition.

Though Ruby could go back to Zii and ask if she's got any male friends who'd mind...

Ruby has already gathered that Zii and Amber have some kind of past, remember. It didn't get in the way when Ruby then met Zii, possibly because Ruby was thrown too far off-balance at the start to think about that. If Ruby finds out that those two have been at it again more recently, well, she may be a little shocked - but her issues with Amber are very specific and personal to Amber - and for that matter, she managed to be perfectly civil to Angel, despite knowing all about the Angel/Jerzy/Dillon triangle. She may work on the basis of judging people by how they act to her, while regarding their behaviour at other times as none of her business. Life is easier that way.

And once again, I find myself suspecting that Ruby will let slip to her parents about this sideline, shocking them with the realisation that one of their daughters has turned into a pornographer. Many, many demerits to Amber if she then leaves Ruby swinging in the breeze...

Pretty much. She's worked out how to monetise her new hobby at the point where she's still going through the first crazy rush of enthusiasm. That's maybe a little unfortunate. Or not, if it makes her rich and happy simultaneously.

If you mean twelve full-colour, full-size images - that would be a fairly large art project. It might happen, but I imagine that someone would have to pay for it. I could see it as part of a Kickstarter bonus scheme, but not a small part. Maybe we'll get three or four images as bonus postcards with the next print volume - though that would reduce the potential number of Amber or Ruby postcards, which for some strange heterosexual male reason, I think would be a shame.

Of course, if you mean sub-thumbnail images in the background of various frames in future strips, well, that's probably quite likely.

Anyway, getting a slightly dangerous vibe off Andy here. Iirc, he and Ruby are in no form or fashion a couple, they're not even dating. Andy here thinks it's a first date, and Ruby denies it immediately. THEN in panel 3 Andy pretty much establishes himself as Ruby's boyfriend? WHAT?

Let's see if he really is so stupid he's harmless.

His face in the last panel is hilarious, though. As if he had just awoken and found himself in this position, with no time passing between his affirmation he's do anything for Ruby and holding an adoring Dillon.
