LMAO

moment of truth................ if Ray gets "full lesson", will he be as good as Gary?

and if not, would he need to be "supervised by Yuki?" or is Gary himself that makes Dill's and Yuki's lessons "extra special"?

I think right now Gary is golden tongue and Amber has never stated how Dillon and Zii compare but has told Zii that Gary is better than her

BTW

right now the over 140 keywords characters are Ruby and Dillon, 3rd? believe it or not, is Jerzy!!!!!!!!(52) with Amber 4th (51) and only 7 characters having 20 plus keywords

unless Ray is a quick learner and has same knack as Gary and somehow ruby can teach same way as Yuki..........................

I don't think so

went back, and looks like Ruby "DECIDED"
to go celibate after going to a party(see, she used to go to parties) and the boys were watching porno tapes of her sister, and probably told her "are you as good as your sister?" and harassed her

she saw one or 2 scenes of her sister but not all of it, and she from that time on, avoided sex 100% (explaining her lack of knowledge about seduction and things like that)

and her "favorite female teacher" convinced her to wear short skirts, and never told her she was into girls, and forced Ruby to pick "dropped pencils" so she could have great rear views

This is...unexpected.

Amber's trying to create another cunnilingus prodigy with Dillon's kissing technique. But then again, she did notice how Gary's tongue worked differently on her than Dillon's. So teaching Ray might help him towards being another tongue-master....but there's no way to tell how it'll measure up to Gary.

Wonder how this'll go?
What's the big deal?~Misery from Ruby Gloom
Dakara Korosu/So I'll Kill You~Kei Munakata from Medaka Box
I Floop the Pig~ Finn from Adventure Time
Dangerously Cheesy!~ Chester Cheetah from Cheetos
What the Juice? ~Randy Cunningham from Randy Cunningham: Ninth Grade Ninja.
Groovy. ~ Ashley J. Williams from Evil Dead
Just let yourself go floppy.
For now this is your chance.
Pretend you have no bones
And do the Rubber Chicken Dance~ Cheese Sandwich from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
I'm Appuhjack! Mowe appuh fwittuh?~ Baby Applejack from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
It's Taco Tuesday!~Sonata Dusk from Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks

This idea depends on either the Swirly working for everyone, or Ray demonstrating that he has the same gift as Gary.

Well, okay, Amber liked it when she got it from Dillon; she just thought that Gary was better. Presumably, if Ray can reach approximately Dillon's level of effectiveness, and Amber can take him to bed without feeling as guilty as she would with Gary (for whatever reason) and without as many complications, and given that he's more Amber's type than Gary is, this will be plenty enough for Amber. Everyone wins, right?

Sort of.

We actually get a couple of potential tricky complications from this strip. First, it looks to me like Amber was using Gary pretty much entirely for his tongue (surprise surprise), and now she wants to assign Ray the same function; high-quality sex toy. Okay, she may also treat him as a friend - no reason why not - but she's still stuck with this very utilitarian view of sex. This may not be good for, you know, relationships and stuff in the long term.

Second, Ray is about to find himself kissing a guy again. If he does have serious if secondary bisexual tendencies, which can be kick-started by Dillon's quality of kiss, well, they're going to be stimulated again. He may have to learn how to deal with this. We know that he finds the idea confusing, and Dillon, Amber, and Ruby may not be the best people to help him through this discovery. Plus, Dillon was supposed to be teaching Ray how to kiss for acting purposes; now, he's got to include lots of fancy tongue-work that would hardly be necessary on stage or screen. To be honest, that part doesn't really hold up when you think about it.

And third, judging by what must be her speech bubble in the last panel, Ruby has been thoroughly distracted by the yaoi (again); rather than think (let alone worry) about the implications of what Amber and Dillon have just been saying, she's like, all "PECS and BUTTS" again.

Now, a lot depends on how much this scene is allowed to have consequences. Will we actually see Dillon giving Ray kissing lessons, or will they take place in the background, or be called off for some reason? Will Amber or Dillon notice Ruby's interest in supervising them, and wonder what she's up to? Will Ruby start thinking about the stuff she's heard? Or is this all a Wacky Gag(TM), and are we about to blunder off to some other scene?

(And why do people's mouths keep disappearing?)

God, I wish this comic came out more frequently. I don't mind wondering what comes next, but when the cause of the puzzlement is being uncertain how seriously the writers are taking their own work...

That's a standard invisible art trick to indicate sudden, reflexive silence. It's not a manga thing, I've already seen it in franco-belgian comics. What confuses me more is blank speech bubbles which always makes me wonder if it's a printing error.

So, Amber gets a better lover, Dillon gets more kissing with his first crush, Ruby may get to watch, and Ray learns to be a better lover while exploring his potential bisexuality. Everyone wins!

For now.

If Ray agrees.

How the process affects Ray is the wild card here. Amber better be close by for him to scoop up and carry off again after Dillon gets him all hot and confused .

Actually, Amber dropped the line before Ray could disagree. But yes, he might have something to say here. And Amber logically shouldn't be close by, because her excuse for this whole thing is that she can't be around tonight.

Sigh. Actually, they'd have looked less stupid if they'd been reasonably honest with Ray. "Look, Dillon is a good actor, and you could probably benefit from more lessons with him, if that's okay with you. Plus, to be honest, he has this amazing kissing technique that even translates into ... other things. If you don't mind getting him to teach you that, too, I'd be ..." <flutter eyelashes> "...amazingly grateful. And if he gives you any gay twinges, don't worry, you proved that you're plenty straight enough for me, and you can..." <flutter eyelashes> "...do so again, whenever you like."

Hey, I'd go for it in Ray's shoes. But instead, we have our three heroes all using Ray as a sex object. Puh.

Possibly. I still suspect it's a unique natural gift. A freakish kink in his tongue or something.

Hypothetical plot that would serve them all right: Ray goes for this, and then, after an hour of kissing Dillon, and with Ruby's encouragement, he decides that his bisexual side is really rather serious, and he needs to explore this. So he very politely dumps Amber and offers himself to Dillon. But Dillon's new-found conscience kicks in hard, and he turns Ray down for fear of hurting Amber, leaving Ruby incoherent with a rage she can't explain to anyone (as usual). Ray then goes off and bangs Matt or Nathan.

Anyhow... Ruby is supposed to be job hunting today, isn't she? Or perhaps she now needs to go swim a couple of miles, to cool down and work off some energy. Seeing her clumsily interacting with Andy, with both of them in swimsuits, could be fun. Or she might get into an interesting conversation with Gina, giving her a new view of Andy; hearing him described as a sweet but harmless dork might stop her worrying about his intentions so much.

Hmm, Amber is rather mercenary. I suppose it shouldn't be a complete surprise, and yet it comes as one to me. Weird.

Doubt this will somehow end up with Dillon and Ray becoming an item. The Jerzy shoe has to drop yet. Unless the creators decided that introducing him too early (or at all) was a bad move, I think that we will be seeing him (and possibly Angel) soonish.

I hope to see a shift to Ruby exclusively soon, whether it's her finding a job, reconnecting with Andy, or both. This strip reinforces why I'm not a huge Amber fan, and while I'm sure there will be some swirly-focused strips, I'm ready for a big(ger) Ruby arc.

Also I predict Ray will fail to rock Amber's world. Gary's swirly is freestyle, building on what Dillon taught him. I don't think Dillon actually knows that at this point, he may think that his standard swirly is what Amber is referring to.

Seeing as how Ruby is wiling to tolerate this if she gets to watch proves they share this mercenary trend. Perhaps they are not all that different after all.

And I agree that Ray will not be able to replicate the swirly-go round technique for the same reason that Matt probably will not even if he could trick it out of Dillon or Gary. They would be too irresistible so it is better that they have some deficiency that makes them imperfect and interesting.

Probably not, but do note that he doesn't have to become Gary-good at it; he only has to learn to be Dillon-good for Amber to be quite pleased.

I do kind of hope that this all crashes and burns because of Amber and Dillon's failure to be honest with Ray about what they're doing (not helped by Ruby's attitude) in some way; I mean, Ray and Amber's relationship is probably doomed in the medium term anyway, because drama, and while I don't want silly little moral fables, this would just be blatant stupidity having quite predictable consequences.

By the way, "mercenary" specifically means "in it for the money", which doesn't apply here. "Exploitative" or "manipulative" would be better, but there isn't really a single word I can think of for "using people as objects, for gratification", which is a shame, because it's a common character flaw in these comics. It's certainly one of Amber's occasional baseline flaws, and Ruby's libido kicking in has triggered the same vice in her -- just as she was helping Dillon to begin to kick the habit.
