Look, this comic is full of opportunities for explicit character nudity if that was what was needed. It isn't. Deal.

Very Mrs Slocombe, I'm sure.

I think Ruby will get interrupted while reading but not much more than that. It might be her fantasizing about something she is reading leading to a very red faced Ruby.
I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite store on the Citadel We'll Bang, OK
Oh, Ruby doesn't need more than the smallest provocation to get embarrassed; having Dillon or Amber taunt her about this would just be superfluous.
But anyway, interrupted or not, I hope that she moves on and learns a little from this. Up until now, even when she was sneaking up on what she thought were scenes of male nudity, she made paper-thin excuses to herself about needing to make them stop. She was just about able to fool herself that she wasn't excited by the subject. But now, she's had that dream - and she's sneaking a look at some erotica, for no reason other than the fact that it's erotica. (Well, she could decide that she disapproves so much that she has to destroy it - but I hope not.) There is now no bloody way that she can deny that she has a (perfectly normal) healthy interest in sex.
She probably won't want to admit as much to Amber or Dillon for a while, so there'll still be scope for her to get embarrassed, but she'd look less stupid and damaged if she at least tried to work out what she wants to do about this.

Meanwhile - trying to read those titles. I think I've got "Only the Ring Finger Knows" (pardon?), "Private Teachers", "Take This Man", "<something> His <something>".
The first is possibly about a man who is married to a woman for appearances but has a secret male lover who doesn't know he's married, because he takes his wedding ring off during such encounters (thus only the ring finger knows).
Blowing it up a bit... "Embracing his Syn"?? "Sign"? "Eye"?
I think we need the Word of God there.

I don't know. In my naive youth, I would've thought that abnormal. Of course that was the 70's when peeps were left to find things on their own, so take that for what its worth.
She still feels like her desires are abnormal. "A libido? Fine, but what's with the gay porn?" is what her internal voice is constantly saying, and she doesn't have a good answer* for it yet.
* The answer is always "Because it makes me hot", but she doesn't recognize that yet.
For one thing, I'm not absolutely certain she really is fine with having a libido. Being exposed to her own big sister's porn, without warning, and at what was maybe a crucial point in her development, seems to have made quite a mess in her head.
As for the gay porn? Easy: no women involved in the action, nothing to makes her think of Amber.

The teenage party incident was the start of the problem, but the issue does currently seem to come down to discovering she's got a (rather vanilla, heterosexual) libido when she's spent years telling herself that she hasn't got one and doesn't need one. It's not surprising if she's confused.
Finding that she's interested in gay male porn may add to the confusion if she doesn't see why a straight woman should want that, but that depends how clueful she is about human sexuality. She's naive, of course, but as she's shown in the last few strips, she's perfectly capable of drawing sensible conclusions from first principles. She should know, if only from the covers of Gary's DVD collection, that straight men like looking at lesbian scenes, and she might guess that this can work the other way too; if she allows that women can be interested in men, well, two hot guys is twice the interest, with no not-interesting naked women to block the view. (The fact that this wouldn't remind her of the sight of naked Amber is more or less a red herring there.)
But first, she has to come to terms with having a libido at all. The fact that she's looking at that bottom shelf at all suggests that she's getting there, but she's got to understand that she can get through this without turning into Amber, so it may take a while.

Ah Spidrift old boy, I think you underestimate the power of denial in the psyche of a person who simply does not want to think too hard about a certain subject. Makes the Dark Side of the Force look like a fluffy light grey cloud in an otherwise blue sky.
And it really should be obvious by now that Ruby is already quite damaged, where her attitudes toward sex are concerned.

Ohhh, touching Dillion's books when he specifically told her not to!? Tsk-tsk. If he comes home and catches her, I think someone is going to get spanked. We can only hope - heheheheh.
