I have to admit... English is my first language, and I still have problems writing haiku. :)) It's because I'm from South Philadelphia, where the pronunciation of words is slightly skewed from "proper" English. When I first moved to Florida, my way of talking was fast and odd enough that my pals Zeus and Paul at first had problems understanding me. It took me years and years to speak properly (and I over did it - with my whole "radio announcer voice") but even still when I speak slowly and carefully I find I still sneak in an odd breaking up of syllables or smushing two syllables together that shouldn't be done.

:D Great haiku there! :)) I like how many people have turned out for this one, too. I think it didn't hurt that haiku are things you can do in just a few minutes, so if you have enough time to cruise the forum you have enough time to participate. :)
