That's how I'm seeing it. Stretching syllables out of the S's, as T2B said might be the case, is just wrongly pronouncing the word.

I'm not buggering on about it because of the contest (I don't need any more shinies :p ), it's just caught my interest. And "on and syllables"? What does that mean?

each haiku must have 5/7/5 "on" to be valid... the closest thing english has to "on" is syllabes

Ohhh, I get it.

And I won't single you guys out. I'll make sure to pick on anyone who I think has the wrong amount of syllables. :p

Yeah, I chose to go with syllables as I'm pretty sure that most people on the forums aren't sure what "on" are, so syllables make it easier for everyone to join in and write one.

Ohh... did mean to thank Asaryu for suggesting the idea in the first place. And for making this much easier then a poetry contest.

HAIKU CONTEST!! :x

:ymhug: to Asaryu (first idea) and bear (implementation).

*reads rules*

*pouts*

Only one stanza?? =((

I had this awesome idea... Well, I thought it was awesome... I'll perhaps implement it and post it here.

I'll have to decide about my entry. Have a decent one written years ago, one stanza only, or might make new.

I mean, we still have some days time.

Fen, your's is wicked cool!! ;)

Yes.. only one stanza :P It stops people writing 15 while some people can only manage one. It makes it fair.

Thanx again Asaryu.

In English, I have to say it out loud to count them. I'll have Teach to check mine in case I mess up :P

Well, my Haiko just "came" to me, so I had to log in again and post it.

I hope someone likes it and it is not too sappy.

Looking forward to many more!!! :ymhug:

I have to say I'm really enjoying this contest and seeing the creativity we forumites can pack into such a small space. Kudos everyone! :D :ymhug:

I am surprised though that Asaryu, as origionator of the idea, hasn't entered herself yet.

I am trying to think of something good.

I am having trouble...

Also..the rules of haiku are that each line should be able to stand alone, as far as I know...they should not run on from each other. I am not sure, but I think I remember a couple in there that have done this.

I'm not fussed if no-one else is, though.

I didn't know that. I'm too used to the English styles of what I call normal poetry where the lines can run together.

Didn't know that either... Guess my first two lines kind of form a sentence. :(
