Haiku Contest 2011: Entry Thread *VOTE NOW!*

Post by Don Alexander »

The Third Annual January Haiku Contest!

Here we are again with this easy-to-do, fun little contest. Write a Haiku!! (Or several - you can enter up to three verses for one Haiku.)

The format will still be the traditional 5 / 7 / 5 syllable arrangement.

Examples from a certain bear can be found in last year's contest.

Theres only three rules:

1. Only 1 Haiku in the given format of up to 3 verses may be entered per person.
2. No pictures or bribes.
3. Keep to the established forum guidelines with your entries.

The entry period is from now until the 27th of January. After which voting will take place until the 31st.

As always the prize is a shiny name color and rank title (if someone wins or is close to first place who does not have a title yet, that is).

This thread is for entries only, All discussion and questions to be in the normal related discussion thread.

EDIT: VOTING IS UP!!! YOU HAVE THREE VOTES AND FOUR DAYS!!!!

Anxiety comes
And so I hug myself tight
Comfort comes slowly

Silence is golden
Or so they keep telling me
They never hear it

There was a boob one
I had it composed, see
It just wasn't right

"When Zii met Yuki"
Is a tale we don't know
Let us hope we will

Yuki loves Gary
But has a tentacle fear
Will Kiley succeed?

Transformers are cool
Gary fixed Overlord
Zii is like "Oh snap!"

Ace Wolfhart, student,
Victim of Blair's pervy spell.
Poor little Puppy.

Old clothes fit no more.
Now deals with naughty classmates
And slumber parties.

Trapped as a girl,
Will Ace return as a boy,
Or shall GrAce remain?
Many thanks to Raamyah for the avvie!!!!

Petals Freeze

Frost tomb, crystal clear
Rose petals dance upon ice
Plucked from pasts warm

Winter is here now
The world is shrouded in gloom
Nothing perceived

Hone thy words, poet
Gaze upon the frozen stream
I'm feeling so cold...

A peck of pickled peppers
It fits in Haiku

Old Mother Hubbard
Also fitting in Haiku
Sat in a cupboard

Old nursery rhymes
