I wonder what he thinks of it, considering he apparently hasn't noticed how Jill has a bit of a crush on him.

Also: are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that Mason Renfield in the 4th panel?

Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Mason has entered the building - to buddy up to Nicholas and help bring Dracula forth as the controlling partner in their little cohabitation arrangement.
