Zippy wrote:...I think you posted the pilot script and the "bible" in the wrong order. Nearly everything in the script is in the profiles, the reverse isn't true.
The profiles were written first, the script was being written based on those (same as with Vampire Cheerleaders).

The profiles have to come first, though, because you won't know what the characters look like otherwise.

Loving the Frankenbitches previews. I can just imagine the scenes in my head from the scripts and they are just jaw-dropping funny (pun intended here)!
I also like that Candice is still alive, though horribly maimed and even more horribly maimed by the doctor who tried to 'save' her, not realizing that Vampiri can heal from even injuries that bad given enough blood, as shown by Suki's magical putting herself back together.

The little monster would not be excited over a bone. The duck will also be trying to fly with its forelimbs, not wanting to put substantial weight on them, like the dog or even the monkey. This will truly be a messed up pet.

But... but... Karloff is sooo *CUTE*!

have you ever read Franken Fran? it's one of my favorite series. it's so dark and different from what i've seen before. and i love science, especially mad science and bio-med/tech. i've jokingly credited it with getting me over my fear of blood. but that manga DEFINITELY isn't for everyone.
as long as i'm here; anyone care to recommend things similar in theme to Franken Fran? i'm running out to good stuff to read... oh! recommendations for mad scientist movies work as well.
things i like in Franken Fran are:
philosophy: author explores the nature of mankind and existence. willing to explore the dark side of humanity as well. Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou is a good example of the softer side of this if you are interested.
mad science and medical science: does it so well. the author has clearly done his/her homework on a wide variety of subjects.
female lead, who is awesome.
i'm looking for stories in which the mad scientist is the main char/driver of story.
and finally, it has great art.

this is probably a tall order. sorry. i just don't see many series out there like this and they are hard to find. the mad scientist is always a side char for some reason or other.

BTW, you should check out Arthur Pyuty the Night Witch. same author, but peoples only translated three chapters into english. i wish i could read the rest.
Rise from Ashes. a new webcomic by Madeleine Rosca, author of Hollow Fields.

This seems like it would be a cool comic, though I'm not exactly in love with the name. Any other, more immediate plans, Adam?

Nothing in the works at the moment. Lots of other Seven Seas' related work in the pipeline keeping me busy.

Back in late January (this year, 2015), I repitched a Vampire Cheerleaders book 5 consisting of three stories to Seven Seas, but they opted to not move forward with it at this point.

The stories would've been:
- Vampire Cheerleaders Presents Frankenbitches
- Vampire Cheerleaders Camp It Up!
- Paranormal Mystery Squad: The Fall of PETM
[Note: while it would've been "book 5," it was chronologically the fourth due to "Vampire Cheerleaders in Space...and Time?!" being the finale.]

The "Vampire Cheerleaders Presents Frankenbitches" character bios and script were written back when it was going to be the lead story in what eventually became the "Vampire Cheerleaders Must Die!" book (volume 3). It's very much part of the VC canon and was something that I always wanted to share (regardless of if it became a series or not), as it explains what happened to Candice.

Would a polite email to Seven Seas expressing support for this be helpful?

Probably not. But you can try.

And if it doesnt work, I do have my enhanced interogation kit ready to try to convince them with :ymdevil:
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

I can understand u wanted to tell what happend to Candice but giving character profiles for a serie that u are never gonna publish(and even put it the book version for crying out loud!) is only making ppl exited about something that will never come out, thus leaving alot of disgruntled ppl behind...

Anyway, i hope u learned a lesson out of this and don't announce stuff u are't giong to release or make ppl exited with small stuff, couse it will only cost u fans and gives u a bad name.

PS sorry for the late reaction, life cought up and made life hell again for a while..

Who's disgruntled? For two years, I had been saying in the forum that I was going to post the Frankenbitches character bible and script at some point since they were canon. Series or no series, I was always going to release that material as an extra so that readers wouldn't constantly wonder how the heck Candice just happened to be alive at the end of Vampire Cheerleaders Must Die!

Vampire Cheerleaders and Paranormal Mystery Squad have enough lost storylines, Frankenbitches didn't need to be one more that readers were left wondering what it would've been like.

For Frankenbitches and the lost storylines, would a Kickstarter or a Patreon campaign let you do them , assuming artist availability? At worst could you do script pages like you did with "Vampire Cheerleaders Get Rescued"? Is there any chance we could see new material on the website, like pinups or the OVA rpg material?

Script writing, for me, is a very time consuming and emotionally draining process. And since I work full time as Seven Seas' Managing Editor, it's not the best use of my time to pen a script that isn't going to be drawn. I'd love to be able to present those untold stories, but it's not my call on if there gets to be more.

Is there any chance we could see new material on the website, like pinups or the OVA rpg material?
The OVA RPG sheets were a special extra that was done for Clay's Kickstarter campaign, so the digital version is exclusive to those backers. We did included all the pages in the back of the print edition of "Vampire Cheerleaders in Space...and Time?!" as an extra, though. So be sure to pick up a copy, if you haven't already.

As for new pin-ups... it's really up to Shiei or Michael. If they do a cool picture, I'd love to post those online. Actual new content is a bit tougher, though, as production costs have to be taken into account (art costs, lettering, toning).
