If I had to guess (and I do, because it hasn't been explained at all), the lizards' attack has somehow ripped open holes in time and space, so stuff from wherever and whenever is falling through.Gotoh wrote:What I don't get is, why're they teleporting random creatures and objects onto the field. I mean, first a sperm whale, now this? It seems impractical. Not to mention, weird.
I dunno... The whale was impractical, definitely. But when it comes to fighting giant pyramid death machines, smashing them square in the face with a flying Destroyer seems to be just about the right scale of practical.Gotoh wrote:What I don't get is, why're they teleporting random creatures and objects onto the field. Still came in at around 1¼KT of weight empty, and while it may have been tied up at the pier when the group made it "Bloop!", that last panel looked like a moving impact on the whatever it is. Depending on how far out it was when it arrived, 1¼KT could conceivably make for a nasty impact. And the USS Smalley, which was laid down just a week before the Eldridge, displaced a tad over 2KT, which, in ship terms, isn't really a whole lot larger than the Eldridge. Especially when you compare them to the USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) at over 27KT. Which, by today's standard for carriers (100KT+), almost qualifies that one for Small-Boy status.vampire hunter D wrote:Wasnt the Eldridge a destroyer escort? Thkse are a bit smaller
Also one can assume her powers have some range/direction limitations. If she could really just zap all the enemies at once then the fight would have ended immediately.Tython wrote:Given that she needed to be carried to the hatching chambers by another Mothman I am assuming that the stress of giving birth has reduced her powers for a bit
