Ok, this is getting a little too real. Can we abandon this thread of discussion and just agree that what Heather did, while understandable at the time considering the circumstances, was wrong?

Not that I'm against stopping the discussion, but there is one thing I'd like to point out.
1. Heather is a teenager, a quite young one at that.
2. She was just turned into a vampire and was on an emotional and power high.
Both count against her being the best person to judge whether her parents are in the wrong or not. I mean my parents are some of the best people I know, but that doesn't stop my teenage sister from deciding some of their decisions merit her wishing she was in another family. She cools down in an hour or two and patches things up.
I think there is circumstantial evidence Heather's parents were emotionally abusive, but I think it was far too unclear to make most readers feel at all good about what she did, especially since even if they were abusive turning them into her slaves would still be wrong.
The problem I have with this reason is that:Nightgazer Starlight wrote:Considering the way that they treated her, or how it's implied they treated her, before she got turned I really can't blame her.
She was just trying to secure her freedom from those who would control her utterly.
All she did was turn the tables so that she was now the one in control there.
I support her actions fully and think she did the right thing too.
