I don't think they could have epitomized my reaction any better than they did in panel two.

Also the very idea of what Suki went through makes my skin crawl off my bones.

The mere fact that ANY of the vamps are still remotely sane is basically a miracle. Who'd have thought that Suki would be showing such ironclad psychological fortitude?

Looks like Suki's worldview ended up somewhere around "have fun if you can, all is vanity of vanities anyway" indeed (called it).
Of course, to adapt for vampirism in the first place they already had to accept "everything's upside down, why, deal with it" attitude.

What I wonder is why Cressida focused so much on Suki? i.e. Lori seemed in pretty good health in that she was able to pursue Cressida. I suppose she thought the best way to hurt Lori was to hurt her vampires, torturing Lori herself wouldn't do much.

Anyway, it is something to see that even Suki can be scared.

It though makes me wonder if the other girls went through something. I shiver at some of the thoughts i had of the other girls.

It did appear that some time had passed between the capture and rescue, and people had wondered how it was that all of the VC girls were 'alive' when rescued. Well, it seems that they were being treated as a renewable food source. Not nice...


And part of me wondered if something like this was in the wings with the girls having the veil like things, like the servant girl back in Vol 2.

Now, it seems likely that two things are possible here. One, they are in an alternate reality, and the sisters might be benevolent, or at least not as evil, or just as evil, but no connection with the VC girls... or 2), this is sometime in their past, and they are fated to face the girls in their own future. This could even end up being why they ended up considering vampires a tasty snack later.

Also, those of us who claimed that Suki had gone a bit crazy due to her gruesome experience were right!

I hope my prediction that Suki will empathize with the plea of the food aliens and become their protector will become true too.
