It does seem the plots have taken priority over the strip gags. Not tbat thats a bad thing.

Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Well I don't stay for just the gags but Ma3 used to be entertaining. Now it's a string of "now what?" Imo.
Behold, my current in development comic book series and the many links you could share for me!

I feel the same way JTheCreator. The magic of this comic is just gone and that makes me sad.
I'm only buying volume six digitally just so I can read the bonus strips.

Does it show how much I love bubble wrap? ;)
Anyway, in regards to Ma3 and how funny it is these days... well, I for one like to look at the books once complete and see how it holds up. I also love looking at the books 1 to 2 years after being done. This way I can look at it as a reader who hasn't really worked on it (and cringe at the art or be surprised by it at times.) Right now, I would have a hard time saying which volume is my favorite. Volume 2 has one of my favorite storyline "the play" but I think volume 4 is stronger overall. Volume 5 has some super funny stuff, like Gary dating Sonya... and the whole girl's night out. I still laugh thinking at how Zii got those guys to kiss each other. And Peggy gets introduced too! Then in volume 6, our new one, the whole Matt/Yuki/Kiley bit is super funny to me. The way he goes to hide when Yuki comes into the room, and then Kiley gets Yuki to touch Matt's penis. I don't know... I still laugh lol. Then Gary goes to Paris... the Tatiana bits are still very funny to me. She's a great character. And then Zii & the band finally get to play & rock out. I think that was super important for Zii's character.
Soooo, I don't know what to say. We still do our best to have the most fun possible doing these strips. The strip is 6.5 years old and we have an archive & continuity we can't ignore. I mean, we could ignore it, but then we'd be accused of no character growth, and we'd risk repeating ourselves. The strip has moved past it's half way point, so it will end at some point. But yeah, we do think more of the overall story. We're looking at the whole package here, and what we want to achieve by the time we hit the end.
Starting SOTR and SDB was a way for us to do something new without the big archive and continuity to deal with. I know some like these new properties more now, but let's see how you feel in 6.5 years once we have to deal with continuity or get the ruler hit on our hands if we ignore it. ;)
All this to say, I'm still enjoying Ma3 very much on this end. I guess that's what matters most, right? You gotta love what you're doing, after all. And I'll be grateful to whoever sticks around for the ride.

Heh, it would take an awful lot to make me stop reading. (And I liked a lot of the same storylines as Giz did.)

I know that I've counseled patience in the past, and I'm still willing to wait myself, but just out of curiosity, has anyone in the UK received their print copies yet? I haven't, and I was notified of shipping on the 5th of December - six weeks ago now.
(I very much suspect that this is coming surface, whatever. My poor books have been sailing the North Atlantic in winter!)

I live near Manchester and got my copies earlier today, don't fret! I got my shipping notice around the same time too.
Speaking of the books (menage a 3, sticky dilly buns, sandra on the rocks), they are so gorgeous! I love them, and the bonus stories were hilarious, especially the Menage a 3 one.
The stickers were very good quality too! It'd be such a shame to actually stick them to something, haha. The books were packaged extremely well too, they are flawless.
It feels good to finally have some physical merchandise of this series after so many years of following it, thanks so much Giz and co!

The mule has made it across the fens!
All three volumes showed up with the morning post just a few minutes ago - and very nice they look too.
Edit: And the postcards are great! Especially the SotR "magazine cover" set. Those straplines are going to have me giggling for days. ("Avoid Smile Lines With This Simple Trick...") I now find myself wondering if there's supposed to be some context for the Ruby pic, though... It gives another kick to my protective instinct towards her, that's for sure.

My package arrived in Derby this morning and I must say that they were well worth the wait. They are very impressive!
Well done to Giz and the team.

Edit: Scratch the dumb question about the stickers. I eventually got the peel-off backing to peel off.

No pressure, but just out of interest, is there any news yet on the bonus comics for backers? "Gary's Dream" was scheduled for December, and the "Naughty Girls" comics are supposed to be Autumn 2014/Winter 2015 releases.

Re: Menage a 3 - Vol 6 : Discussion
Gonna be doing the SDB one first since the script is further ahead. Starting pencils next week, and hoping to be done by end of February with Ma3 following on its footsteps probably early March. Then I'll be able to focus on EC again. Was hoping to get an update done this week but had computer issues and had another little freelance thing to complete.
