He's probably safish as long as he doesn't say anything positive about being gay, or claim to be gay, or look 'gay', or act 'gay', or say anything bad about the government there at all. Just bad mouth the US government and you'll be fine ;)

I'm back, and alive! (bonus content: one Magic tournament, one dangerous drive to my university home...)

As Mik stated, I was likely perfectly safe. Even when I was walking around with 40000 rubles in my billfold...

Some quick travel impressions:

- Needs more workshop, less conference.
- Georgian food is terribly nummy.
- Russian cafeteria food is cheap, and guess what, that is what it tastes like.
- Everything else in Moscow is horribly expensive except for the weird-tasting soft drinks from the house brand of the nearby supermarket.
- Moscow hotels SUCK. Especially, your money out of your pocket.
- Russian girls are all incredibly tall, slim and beautiful. They also all seem to smoke.
- The Metro is really cool and, for once, CHEAP.
- Russians drink bread. It's actually kind of good.

The downside right now is I have no idea how I shall EVER effin catch up with the forum.

No, that actually IS over $1000. Course is roughly 30 to 1.
