I havent faced racism, not openly anyway, yet though. but i do see people making assumptions based on book cover judgements they make on me .

But i will inevitably run into open racism. Theres plenty of ignorant people who will assume iam something they hate. Whether their hatred be directed towards arabs [that goes under semites], asians, westerners or otherwise.

One fellow thought i was Afrikaan [white african]. Now that was interesting. [there are lot of south africans and Afrikaans here].

Just guessing my ethnicity is innocent. Its making judgments, specially negative ones, that worries me. The true core of my fear is tht some bigoted fool will go about ruining my contribution to taking this planet to a better future. None the less i intend to fight this, and prove such people wrong, when the situation comes up.

It is not wrong to fear. It is wrong to give in to that fear.

i must also state to the women here. nerf bats still hurt men down there, pillows do as well [Very bad experience]. Any object, even if greatly soft and comfortable to the touch and feel, can create sufficient impact if wielded upon that area of our body.

O yes, avoid firing those large Super Soaker models at us over there as well. beams of water, fired with sufficient pressure, can hurt too.

Yes, my gal was extremely clumsy with. [i seem to be the only one though..]

The first time I went to the USA, I toured briefly with two Spanish guys, and they were of the opinion that people in the Americas spoke a bastardised version of Spanish which they didn't much like.

Christ, Stepheny was linguistic and literate in a number of european languages and non european as well [iam actually surprised that this is a talent more common than i first imagined]. I cant truly imagine [ i can actually but i just mean this as a turn of a phrase] hatred and marginalizing based on languages. But iam not surprised.

Even intelligence and physical fitness are...you know what actually.

All "diferences" are potential targets for such behavior.

Even Arnold, the Governator, faces such prejudice back home in Austria. He has sort of a country bumpkin Austrian dialect, and people tend to make fun of it there. It's why he never speaks Austrian now.

Here in Peru, we get movies translated in Mexico mostly. And yeah, they're way better than the ones with, er, Spain Spanish :P But that's just because of the similarities. You know, I'm currently studying (Brasilian) Portuguese and I've come to learn that it's very VERY different from the one of Portugal. Even the (Brasilian) teachers say that it's easier to understand someone speaking in Spanish than someone speaking Portugal Portuguese. T2B, you must know, it's not that hard for latin american spanish speakers to understand brasilian portuguese :D

Btw, learning or speaking English here is not such a big problem. Loads of people, specially here in Lima, have the means to learn. There are institutes everywhere, and some are not expensive at all, so it's not really an issue :)

While I don't care whether people are gay, straight, or alien-shagging horn-dogs, I do dislike the stereotypical gay mannerisms promoted by television and movies, and copied by so many wannabes. The limp wrists, lisping speech with the sillliest speech patterns they can create, girlish clothes, et cetera. And yes, there is also a gay clubbing scene which, unfortunately, tends to involve a lot of rarely safe sex with strangers, which is known to be the cause of particularly high rates of certain STDs among the gay community. So it's not the sexual preference I object to, but the dumbtarded cultural baggage people attach to it. Why would they change their personalities to suit an image they got from the television? Silly.

Now I was reminded of this by a woman I know informing me this evening that she'd never go for buttsecks. No, I didn't ask her to accommodate me. We were discussing her boyfriend, or something. Anyway, it came up (pun), and she declared she'd never go for anal sex. Personally I suspect it's a pain in the arse. I'm not asking anyone to explain the appeal to me, just saying I don't get it. I mean, I understand the appeal from the pitching side of the equation (heteosexually speaking), but not from the catching side.

I think I promoted strongly to the downfall of my marriage by not always doing what was best for us as a couple... but by constantly doing what made my then wife happy. I felt I enabled her to be lazy, to make the poor decisions that drained all of our money, and ultimately resulted in the resentment that finally split us apart. I think back often about how it might have been different if I'd only stood my ground rather than just get the result that had her smile at me.

I also eat way, way too many sweets when nothing else makes me happy.

My boyfriend is a carbon copy of me, only four months younger and, of course, male. Does that make me narcissistic?

@Don: Hm. If, in the future, there are clones, and you fuck your clone, is it sex or is it masturbation?

And...

I think (and no, I wouldn't know) that the appeal is the same as faking an orgasm: it makes the guy feel good, so the girl feels good about satisfying her partner.

We forgot the incest option for both the clones and the long lost sibling... :o . Kidding.

Everyone wishes they could find someone just like themselves though, even if they won't admit it. Its one of those secret fantasy things.

I don't go for the girlish clothes, and I don't do the limp wrist, but I have a slight lisp simply because of my facial bone structure. Also, my voice is higher-pitched than it otherwise would be because of damage to my windpipe when I was born (I was strangled to death by the umbelical cord, and was medically dead). So. Sometimes people can't help but be the stereotype.
Skaramouche wrote:And yes, there is also a gay clubbing scene which, unfortunately, tends to involve a lot of rarely safe sex with strangers, which is known to be the cause of particularly high rates of certain STDs among the gay community.
You could replace 'gay' with 'straight' and it would still be true.
Skaramouche wrote:So it's not the sexual preference I object to, but the dumbtarded cultural baggage people attach to it. Why would they change their personalities to suit an image they got from the television? Silly.
People aren't changing their personalities to suit the image, they're idolizing the image and growing into it. Quite a few gay people realize that they're not normal when they're extremely small. It just takes a while to figure out - generally until puberty hits. In any case, gay male children have a tendency to play with dolls and other such feminine things. Can you honestly say that they're changing their personalities to suit an image that they got from the television?

Because if we're going to play the numbers, I 'changed my personality' to 'suit' the geeky image despite having played with dolls when I was small.

There's the masculine gay guys, who self-label as 'straight-acting' or 'men who have sex with men'.
Then there's the feminine gay guys, who self-label as 'queens' or 'fags'.
Then there's the rest of us, who are somewhere in the middle, and just want to live a normal life like everyone else and don't consider our sexuality more important than any other part of our personalities. We tend to wish the other groups didn't exist, or at the very least, simply not understand them.

Two words:
"Prostate orgasm."

And when those two words don't do it:

"In love."

I have. My boyfriend is a sexy geek who is slightly emotionally unstable, a bit of a pyro, and a sweetheart who has a mission to ensure that everyone around them has a life better than they would have had without him around.

And the fact that if you manage to somehow conceive yourself, that would make an awkward situation, for all three of you.
