Oh, can I have a slow loris? Or a solenodon? How about a horned lizard? We have them in Texas, but I'm told I'm not allowed to have any kind of pet that shoots poisonous blood from its eyes. Or that is poisonous in any way. Which, if you get really technical, means I can't have a weasel or ferret. :((

Ferrets aren't poisenous... they just smell bad unless you get them fixed.

That's because you're human. It's an irritant chemical for a number of would otherwise be the creature's natural predators. Well, not so much for the ferret, but it is for the weasel.

EDIT: I'm actually an oddball who likes the smell of ferrets, BTW.
