At least he had a good run at it with Richard Sharpe.

Mumfie oh lawds. That theme song.
"Who can you rely on when the chips are down?
Call on Mumfie when you need defending
Braver than a Bulldog
Brighter than a clown
Here comes Mumfie with a happy ending.
With his faithful friend the scarecrow
He's got dreams enough to share, so
If you want adventure
This is where to start
If you need a hero
Who can play the part?"
The little pachyderm
With the great big heart!
And, like, Howl's Moving Castle and other films more my ag... stuff it, Mumfie is the hero for all ages.

Star Wars: Droids - the animated series. I freakin' LOVED this show when I was little!! And now I can enjoy it again!!
Technically, it's on YouTube now; but it USED to be on TV!! That counts for something, right??

I was such a Droids geek in the day! Did you know there was a version of the opening song without the singing? No one but me seems to remember it.

Hmmm...nope, I only recall the theme with vocals. Except for the closing credits, of course.

Re: Now Watching....?
So what movie are you watching or what series have you started to watch?
For me, I finally watched all of Mobile Suit Gundam. I now know what I have been missing. The animation is a bit dated, but compared to something like Gundam Wing, the story is amazing. I have now started to watch Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. It is starting off a bit slow, but it is supposed to be the masterpiece of the Gundam series so I am sure it will get a lot better.

I got about halfway through Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, and was asleep for about half of that. At least I managed to watch enough to get enough notes for my mecha essay. Maybe it is more your thing though.

Re: Now Watching....?
Yup! It was for a class called Animation Genres. It was called Watashi, Robotto: An Attempted Account for the Oversized Automatons in Anime, and I discussed the development of the robot as a mythical character (the term "robot" was first coined in the play Rossum's Universal Robots by Czech playwright Karel Čapek, but the mechanical nature is largely attributed to Maria from Fritz Lang's Metropolis), its introduction to Japan, the two major subgenres of mecha (Super Robot and Real Robot) and their cultural significance.
Mazinger Z and Tetsujin 28-go (a.k.a Gigantor) were my Super Robot examples, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam was my Real Robot example, and Neon Genesis was an example of some terrifying fusion of the two subgenres.
I got a High Distinction for that piece, which is a A+ in American.
And yes, being an animator really is that awesome.

Re: Now Watching....?
NGE was great, but some of the themes and implied desires in that show were messed up to the point of being terrifying. Actually the only mecha show I've watched all the way through. Unless you count Zoids as mecha...

Yes, I'd say Zoids qualify. As would Voltron and Power Rangers.

I own just about everything Gundam Wing. >_> That and NGE are the only mech stories I've watched all the way through- except for the newer 1:whatever of NGE.
