And I'm leaning on the former, just because things shouldn't be too easy. No pain, no gain, and Gary just hasn't gone through nearly enough pain yet. He hasn't yet shown enough correct kind of courage to justify getting some.

I don't know about that. She seems awful interested in his sex life for someone who doesn't see him as a sexual entity. That's the thing. Generally when I guy is crossed off a girls list, she just doesn't think about what he does in bed or with who. I think Gary is still in the running, but as I've commented in another thread, I believe its going to be the result of him generating some balls after an intense session of Zii-Needling and go for it.

I really do too, but the moment it happens, Gary ceases to present the timid men, and join the fortunate few, who have actually scored.

And if Gary gets some without showing some real initiative, he'd be just lucky, and that's just not right!

I think he will show initiative and Zii is the candidate. Zii can't help but pry at his shell. She's one of those people that digs and digs, you know? I think she's going to dig until she hits a soft enough spot that Gary mans up, culminating in furious amounts of nookie. That's where I think this is going.

Woo-hoo! For my first post in the forum, I choose one on porn! As a completely straight female (never experimented, or interested in other girls as more than friends), most people assume that I would immediately be disgusted by someone admitting a porn collection. But, honestly, I think most people have SOME porn or have at least watched it at some point. It's not disturbing (on the whole, because some of it definitely is) or disgusting, but natural. I'll admit it :oops: ....I enjoy porn sometimes, although I've never gotten into the girl-girl (probably due to my lack of attraction to females, huh?). But it is true that most people wouldn't admit it so quickly to a new person, and most people wouldn't react the way Zii's doing either. So maybe they are meant for each other!

I don't find it so much confort zone as it is the only proof that he is interested in gals.

Ah, but it's double standard time. A girl that initiates the porn sharing? Cool and fun. A guy that initiates the porn sharing? Usually seen as creepy and gross. To avoid being "creepy and gross" (since he's a nice guy), I don't think it's in Gary's character to volunteer this information to just anyone. Heck, Matt & Dillon might not have known about it except for the thin walls! (They hear Gary listening to a DVD in his room, hear sounds of moaning... all of the moans female, plus Gary... ) So for Gary to bring this up to Zii shows the comfort zone I refer to, in my feeble opinion.

I'll also hazard it might be a regional / cultural issue, as well. I've had friends for over half my life (yup, a REALLY long time)... and we've never spoken about porn with one another. The closest that stuff will happen is we'll send e-mail to one another of a really attractive girl - usually an artistic nude, sometimes not even naked, and hardly what anyone would really consider porn. So I'm seeing Gary through the lense of someone from a background not so terribly different from my own (just... not evil, and all). That's what I'm thinking.

I think that's it; back at home, all the boys flashed around their copy of Nuts magazine and discussed Megan Fox's photographs, and were generally very open about it. At the university I'm at, they all pretend their minds are on higher pleasures.

I think, though, that culture may have bypassed Gary somewhat. All he knows is he's gone from very, very closeted, to the beginnings of a friendship which is far more open then anything he's seen before. I think he's sharing so willingly because he has no idea where the boundaries lie in this kind of relationship!

Heh. Noisy doesn’t matter when you’re not there to hear; heavy matters not at all; and there is no lock that can’t be bypassed. And if you have more than one kid old enough, you’ll never be sure which one didn’t put things back exactly the way you thought it was. But Fen does have a point, there’s always the Internet.
