I kinda hoped I wasn't the only one but we never saw much of his face before although we did know he was the neighbour. Wasn't sure how many people twigged, especially since his name was used here (and wasn't the first time around), and thanks to the generosity of Giz sending me a copy of the scripts for WordOwl previously, I knew his name was Rob already.

As for paying the rent, that's a very good question. Probably moreso than the question of what Zii does...

Cut to the morning - Gary wakes up with his face pressed into Didi's cleavage, Zii clutching at his bottom, Lita wrapped around his head, and wondering if perhaps he's still dreaming. Not that I really suspect both Zii & Didi are going spend the entire evening with Gary, but it would still be nice for him to wake up to find himself in a situation better than anything I've managed in my life.

And I'm so glad for the further appearances of "Rob", as we now know him. Maybe it's just that I'm rooting for him because he's a shut in, and I'm a fellow agorophobia sufferer. And to address the question a lot of people are asking about his ability to make money, there are actually a lot of ways to make a decent living without ever leaving your house or having accessing to the internet. Most of them are on the pseudo-legal level but seem legit, but they're out there all the same.

I'm imagining this fellow who snapped during the Carter presidency... who lost it when Carter was allegedly "attacked" by the swimming rabbit, and decided to leave the country for someplace slightly more sane. In my head he has closets full of 70's clothes, shag rug carpets, and a Betamax player with all the old movies that make him feel safe in his little corner of the world. OMG! Yes, Zii gets invited in (or scams her way in), and they bond over 70's Rock on vinyl! Tell me that would not make for a fun twist!

I had another thought about MMe DeVille after today's strip... earlier, when first introduced to Zii, she referred to Zii as a young man. Before, we'd thought her vision wasn't the best. What if instead this was just another case of Mme DeVille be a snarky old lady and taunting Zii? After teasing poor Rob, I think the chance of that being the truth is growing more and more. ;)

I'd say she's DiDi with Zii's personality grown up and gone gray. Remeber she pointed DiDi out and said that she was reminded of herself in her youth.
