Kimi wo Nosete :Punk Style
A FANTASTIC choral performance

God, Joe Hisaishi's music is so amazing. I don't know why they don't release the image albums and soundtracks over here.

Check Amazon.

The import albums can be somewhat expensive.

Ponyo's DVD release date is slated for October 28th this year. There's a standard edition, a special edition, and a Blu-ray release.

I wouldn't be surprised if Earthsea never made it over here. Many people were disappointed in the film, including Miyazaki and Ursula K. LeGuin (if I recall correctly).

That being said, I am curious about it. I, too, shall keep my fingers crossed.

Is the movie Earthsea based on Ursula K. Le Guin's books?

Apparently so, albeit loosely.

I read the first two books of Earthsea, but my library never did get around to the third book, instead having others in the series. Yes, I am aware of the inter-library loan system, but it's too much hassle.

Personally, I'm really wishing for Only Yesterday.

Now I have heard the slightly negative reviews, but I also heard them about movies which have become cult classics and I think anything with the Ghibli name has a head start on being a cult classic.

That is interesting, I had not heard LeGuin didn't like this movie, I heard she greatly disliked the mini-series that has kept this movie out of R1 release for a time; speaking of the mini-series has that even aired more then once of Sci-Fi (or SyFy or whatever they call themselves these days).

I would love to see Only Yesterday even if only in sub, though dub would be interesting for who they cast... so far have only seen it on TCM about four or so years ago.

I just saw the first ad for Ponyo on television! They say the movie will be out in theaters on the 14th... and it looks awesome from the short clips their showed in the TV teaser.

I know, if possible I would have taped Only Yesterday too just to have it.
