Why would you not classify it as yuri?zen999 wrote:in terms of these genres, would one categorize a manga/anime such as kashimashi strictly yuri? I mean....really.

I think the debate would be whether or not that's consider shoujo-ai as opposed to yuri, which has more implications than boob-grabbing.DawnBandit wrote:Chicks wanting other chicks? A mostly female cast? Check.
Boob-grabbing? Semi-check.

In before 59cobalt saying something about the distinction between yuri and shoujo-ai being a purely North American imposition.Peregrin wrote:I think the debate would be whether or not that's consider shoujo-ai as opposed to yuri, which has more implications than boob-grabbing.DawnBandit wrote:Chicks wanting other chicks? I admit that I'm a guy and I'm reading D.N.Angel, which I know is shoujo. I don't really notice shounen-ai but I definitely notice shoujo-ai and I want to start reading or seeing some more yuri series. But, in any case I've heard about this series called Maria†Holic. I want to know, does this count as yuri?
