shoujo-ai is ok, i just haven't seen any good series.
any good ones you know of?
So far the only ones I label as "okay to watch or read" are Kashimashi and the little bit in My-HIME

in terms of these genres, would one categorize a manga/anime such as kashimashi strictly yuri? I mean....really.

Why would you not classify it as yuri?

Chicks wanting other chicks? Check.
A mostly female cast? Check.
Boob-grabbing? Semi-check.

I think the debate would be whether or not that's consider shoujo-ai as opposed to yuri, which has more implications than boob-grabbing.

In before 59cobalt saying something about the distinction between yuri and shoujo-ai being a purely North American imposition.

I admit that I'm a guy and I'm reading D.N.Angel, which I know is shoujo. I don't really notice shounen-ai but I definitely notice shoujo-ai and I want to start reading or seeing some more yuri series. But, in any case I've heard about this series called Maria†Holic. I want to know, does this count as yuri?

Maria Holic counts as being a work of Minari Endou, which makes it awesome by default regardless of what it might be classified as.

But not really, no.
