I'd say they either team up to get out, or Jennifer tries to get out solo and Dan takes a bullet for her either way, dying pseudo-heroically so Jennifer can live, leaving her even more emotionally scarred.

Jennifer emotionally scarred? I doubt it. She looks so furious, she's almost ready to shoot Dan herself!

Stupid shit wasn't listening to her and doesn't understand her. The agency is the best thing in her life, he was too but not now that he's done this, and put the agency at risk.

But what if Master Control is part of "freelance gig", and wants Jennifer out for her own good, too? He did come out of retirement just for her, was with Dan on the roof and presumably saw him enter the building instead of tailing Agent D, and told Jennifer to just "stay where you are, finish what you are doing, I told you to ignore it". In the "Air Drop 2" strip, Master Control seems to know what's going on with Dan and Jen. In the "Succeeding and Surviving" strip, Master Control mentions how the agency only wants success and not survival of their finest agents and how he doesn't want Jen to be one of those agents who "succeeded" and were never heard from again.

Sounds like Dan and Master Control are in kahoots.
