New Strip! Naomi has some new orders for Teddy that bring him part way back to his old self.

And in issuing this order, Naomi demonstrates how right she is for Teddy and how wrong she is to think that she's not right.

Original Teddy's reaction is bit underplayed - compared to when he turned into a girl, one would think he would have more than a fairly passive reaction to discovering his body in a monstrous form. I suppose that's the joke, but it is quite jarring immediately after a supposedly impactful dramatic moment.

Speaking of the drama side - Naomi's reasons and decision are quite human, in spite of reality not really supporting her emotions (though, illogical thinking is rather human in a lot of cases, so it is passable here), but a pity that they don't feel even remotely earned. Being "unearned" is a point I've used before, nevertheless, it is still true here in which there is presumably an expected emotional reaction from the audience, yet not enough development has been done to warrant any.

I think Fluffy and others noted last time that Naomi's rationale would be focused on Teddy's "sacrifices," as well as his efforts. Yet, the fact that those efforts, including potentially ruining reality (which Naomi somehow lists as a good thing), were all unrequested, kind of undermine any notions of heroism. I think the writers are trying to play the card of "true heroes don't need to be asked for help," however, that falls flat through this story - Chloe wasn't some poor mugging victim that Teddy dove in to save from a mugger's bullet, if anything, an analogy would be she had a mortgage that had a due date approaching; instead of discussing ways to deal with the problem with her, he goes off to buy every lottery ticket; just because he happened to win the jackpot doesn't change the fact he sent a bunch of credit cards into red, and stole a bunch of stuff from his neighbours and school mates. Hell, he would is more "heroic" in this analogy because at least he isn't a rapist and mind-warper.

On a lighter note, I guess at least it has been a roll of actual story happening rather than almost entirely filler/smut, so credit for that...

Yes, but it still remains to be seen if Teddy will ultimately choose Chloe. He certainly cared enough to do everything Naomi said, but he'd have done that for Abby too. Ultimately, he may see Chloe as a big sister more than a girlfriend.

I wonder why Chloe didn't think of that.

Ok, Naomi's being kind and considerate, then does something clever that you can't blamr Chloe for not thinking of.

So what problem do you guys have with this?

No I can, and will blame her for not thinking of that answer considering I came up with the same thing in like, five seconds:

So, just some of the many options she could have at least attempted:
...
"I order you to act like Teddy did before I entered his life."
...
And also I just plain don't understand why Naomi gave that speech about why Chloe should unlock his collar, and then... proceeded to give the perfect order that would make taking off the collar pretty much a moot point? Like now it doesn't matter if Naomi or Chloe unlocks it.

Yeah, there's no reason Chloe shouldn't have thought of that.

This right here. Chloe is completely wrong for him and she will be until she grows into the level of adulthood that Naomi is showing.

Besides, who sat on their ass on a crystal throne whining about woe is me, and who took charge to find Teddy? If Teddy is smart, he will choose her.

Anything else is a melodrama waiting to happen. Of course, since so far every one of the PT comics that ended (or are getting close to ending with apparently wretched half endings) have done so on a 'Meh' note, I suspect he will follow suit.

Chloe isn't exactly a bastion of logic.

I sooo friggin love Naomi.
She really is my favorite in this entire series.
Smart. thinks thiings though. and . unlike...everyone? else (I think everyone else..)
She actually tries to look at things from the other person's POV before doing anything.

I adore that.
----
I still vote that Chloe the big sis path is the best for my preferences as a reader (which doesn't mean much. I'm just hear for the reading ride ~)
I still think collectively they act more like siblings. if it wasn't for magically induced horniness.
--------

One thing I realized and noted-as someone else brought up how Naomi went and looked for Tedd.
Chloe ordered Teddiety to cloud the memories of acquantances.
This did not effect Naomi. and seemingly ONLY not naomi.
His sister seems to have... completely 0 worry about him-isn't helping, isn't interacting, and is just off enjoying her new training. As does the others like Alchemy (as near as we can tell- Alchemy should have seen that Tedd disappeared (presumably) from the death list. and would have asked folks I imagine).
But Naomi, seemingly only her, was actively aware of Tedd and wasn't clouded enough to not care.
So.. why Naomi? Is it implied that Chloe didn't have him cloud her? Or did somehow Teddiety actively chose to avoid Naomi despite being ordered. (idk maybe GF doesn't count as acquantance..despite sisters and other potential datees)
Disclaimer: that panel about the sister says "and taking her mind off things" so it is entirely possible she is worrying in some fashion. But apparently not enough to do anything (she isn't known for impulse control after all). We know she has her powers still considering the hat+tail belt.

Chloe isn't a very bright person, period. To be honest, I tend to ship almost anyone else with Teddy but her because she has this amazing talent for making things worse for Teddy.

Considering all the endless debate over pheromone related sexual assault I completely forgot about that.

But seriously this is one of the few times Teddy ever thought of Chloe romantically. And it’s still possible for him to think of her as a sister since she’s no more a real sister than Pandora is his real mother....

Okay that might not be the best example.

Teddy has the same talent, so he's in good company.

She used to have some smarts to her - way in the start of this comic, anyway; but she slowly became the slow witted idiot we know and barely tolerate today.
