Usually I like Layla although lately she's been reminding me of my niece, who at times makes me actually long for the days when an adult could as my mother so sweetly called it: "Slap the ever-loving holy hell out of" their kid when they reached a certain point (or wards in the case of uncles stuck with a house of bratty teenagers). So I have my own way of saying what we all have this page: "Karma, this is Layla. Layla, Karma. Now bend over and wait for the boot kid."

I'm honestly glad Layla's scared of the male hoard. She's shown herself to be the most self-centered character in the strip: doesn't accept Nina's differences, strings along Kade only allowing him to be her boyfriend when it suits her, and now has turned antagonistic towards Chloe (likely because of the jealousy she showed when Chloe developed so rapidly).

If there's "casualties", she's my pick for first to go.

Basically, let her get humbled a little by actually needing somebody's help - either Kade or Chloe being the rescuer with her showing a kinder face towards that person.

I can understand Lalya's being scared, but her crying for help, or more precisely, her crying for help like a little girl would (especially the clenched fists), looks really far from her usual behaviour. Now maybe that's deliberate and Layla's "big girl" stance was just for show and it will make room for a 'lost child' attitude, but if that's not the case, then to me it seems a bit out of tune.
