No its been darkened a little in the hope of not causing so much eyestrain with all the brightness. We are working on finding a different colour scheme that still looks good though. phpBB forums recolouring is weird and not straight forward.

I thought it had got darker overall. I didn't mind it before, but I like it more now. And the logo rocks. (But the mod-green could do with going down a shade.)

Personally I don't like trying to customise phpBB myself; I've tried it before and it irritated me, it just seemed too much work. I personally prefer customising SimpleMachines' forum package, I've even found that much easier to write modifications for than for phpBB, but that's just me.

Okay.. toned down the name shade a little too... lol

Fortunately, most of the major stuff like updates Giz has to do since they go into to forums route directory.
