Browser freezes, your fault!

Post by Panchocheesecake »

Everytime I go to the front page my browser, the latest safari, freezes. When I say freeze, I mean literally the spinning rainbow wheel forever.

THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN ON MONDAY.

It could just be an ad that you've only come across on the front page so far. Sometimes there are issues with bad coding for ads.

I'm using IE and I've never had a problem with it, Its always been bad site or advert coding thats made it shut down for me. Firefox always crashes my system when I try to use it for some reason whatever I do with it, and from what i hear the other browsers just aren't as reliable... appart from google chrome which I've not tried yet.

I have tried IE, Firefox and Chrome.
Currently I often use Google Chrome, but since it's not as well expanded as IE and Firefox, I still use IE. Firefox keeps crashing on my computer and sometimes even crashes my computer all together.

In case people are wondering about Google Chrome: It's incredibly fast. It can load a page within a second even if you are playing heavy online games. I play WoW and surf on Chrome at the same time, something that is near impossible on IE, as WoW slows down IE so much, it takes nearly 5 minutes to load a page [/exaggeration]. Anyway, Google Chrome has not the same features as Firefox and IE. Not sure about Firefox, but IE for example has access to feeds, something that Chrome has not. Chrome does have an incognito mode though (not sure if that is also on other browsers) meaning that the sites you visit while in incognito mode, do not appear in your history. Pretty handy when you don't want people to find out where you have been ;)

I advise Google Chrome if you want speed, but people should keep in mind that some HTML and Java stuff do not work completely well on some websites and therefore might give errors. My advice? When you use Google Chrome, don't uninstall any other browsers. Combined, they are the best.

*noddles*

Firefox is crashing all the time for me too. It's the recent iterations that are doing it though. I have 3.0.something on my laptop and it works fine..but the most recent firefox just borks randomly.

I'm using IE at the moment (which does have an incognito mode), but I miss my bookmarks. The reason I still try to persist in using firefox is that I have all my bookmarks saved at delicious, and I don't know how to go about importing them to another browser.

By "front page" do you mean the forum index, or http://www.pixietrixcomix.com/? I'm using Safari 4.0.3 with no problems on either.
