Happy New Year, back at you! :)

For once, I'm glad a character is oblivious to the situation; unlike other characters' idiocy, Maura's is often more amusing than not (granted, perhaps "idiocy" is too strong, but she is certainly clueless quite a few times).

Love the expressiveness in the art, from Maura's wide-eyed gossip of Dio, to Lynn's incredulity, then Lynn's seductive aura, to Maura's charming contemplation as she genuinely ponders a loaded question that somehow went over her head, which results in Lynn's amusingly defeated slouch.

Doesn't really make Lynn a more likeable character - even though DiDi is dumb and more frequently obnoxious in certain ways, at least in regards to believing she is in love, I don't think she deserves to be traded from Zii's trophy, to Lynn's prey; I'm doubling down on the "predatory" interpretation of Lynn's character, because even if she is being *cool* about her approach to DiDi, it is obviously not for romantic desires, at least not so much that she doesn't stop trying to poach other sexual hook-ups.

Yep, Happy New Year.

Anyhow, we get emotional complexity, characterisation, a classic implausible comedy set-up (these people really haven't seen each other?), Maura wearing that fancy dress very well, and Lynn rocking a suit. If we're going to have wrestling storylines, I'm cool with having strips like this (that don't even mention the W-word).

One question, though; why does Lynn address Maura as "Sweet T"? Is it just a weird way of writing "sweetie"?

If she’s implying that by stealth... She’s possibly a bit more taken with Maura’s physical charms than she’s been letting on.

Happy Birthday Kroc and Happy New Year to all.

There are times I feel 'Dum Dum' should be Maura's pet name instead of 'Sweet T'; however with that cleavage, I understand why Lynn keeps it. It still doesn't change how clueless Maura can be. I guess it also cements how hetero Maura is compared to being a wrestling-only fan-girl of Lynn/Annie Conda's. Lynn's come on was pretty direct; even Gary would have picked up on that one. Maura did say she liked the Night Sisters better than Annie though, and she did say that she would do almost anything for her when her Didi masquerade fell through. Can't blame Lynn for trying, though.

Lynn's failure to seduce Maura does bring up a problem with Lynn's Didi acquisition strategy however: her plans needs to be full of idiot-proof logic or so much emotion that Didi will be forced into Lynn's arms. Good luck with the former.

Maybe Lynn has a weakness for blondes? I recall Annette (her semi-annual booty call partner) was blonde.

Also when Tess and Maura accidentally run into each other at the restaurant with their dates, I wonder how that will go off. Will Damien be concerned that Annie Conda/Lynn is trying to poach his talent? Or, will he be happy to get his gym more exposure? He'll be mistaken, of course, in thinking that Lynn is there for the Tempests, but then there's some hilarity to be gotten in that. I expect Maura will be upset at Tess getting more personal with Damien, but then that joke/scenario has been set up for a little while already.

And with that I'm now at 3000 posts! :ymparty:

It doesn't seem all that long ago I first created an account because my interest in Penny & Aggie lead me to read this strip and the rest is history.
That's nice. Me, I first found about this comic when I read about it in The Bad Webcomics Wiki. The sheer hatin' in that review really was something else... a few choice quotes:

"Fetish fuel patterned on bad harem comedy anime."
"Shameless fanservice and no substance."
"Desperately wants to be porn without actually being porn."
"Everyone is a drooling moron."
"Giz is another no-imagination type who watches too much anime and has never gotten laid."
"No self-respecting modern woman would write a character like DiDi."
"DiDi is just fuckbait who takes any grabbing and drooling as if it was no big thing."
"Zii is an ultra horndog with Mary Sue-like powers and no respect for the personal space of others. She needs to get her butt kicked."

The reviewer goes on and on about Zii, describing all the evils she has done in her life. My favorite item in the list is:

"Because of her, a guy who liked cold meats becomes tormented by sausages!"

Poor darling. The horror!

Eventually, the reviewer concludes with what he thinks is an irresistible final argument:

"Giz is only in the webcomic business to appeal to horny nerds so they’ll buy her crap and she can hopefully not have to work because her comic will make the money for her."

Gee, I thought making a comic such as this one was a lot of work. And I thought every author in the world dreams to be able to live off their work. Go figure.

Anyway, the review piqued my curiosity so I decided to check out Ma3. And that's why I'm here today. Thank you, Bad Webcomics Wiki! :-bd

But that would only work if Tess was also Maura’s exception. And then, there’d be a danger of them spoiling an excellent friendship by having sex get in the way.

Anyhow, yep, I’d forgotten the previous signs that Lynn has a mild but definite thing for Maura. Or at least for Maura’s boobs, which is doubtless enough to be going on with. Which shows that her interest in DiDi isn’t deeply, passionately romantic — but why on Earth should it be?

On the subject of today's strip, I don't really have an exception, but I do have an admiration for deep voices like Tom Jones and the late Leonard Cohen. My own voice is quite deep IRL so I guess it's a solidarity thing. Also, this strip is probably the best place to take the wrestling crowd considering DiDi is presently à la maison not having sex with her girlfriend and we wouldn't want to interrupt that serious conversation waiting to happen with the inherent silliness of these people and their problems. The looming trainwreck promises to be hilarious I think.

Well I quoted that review myself once, and the only thing I agreed with was its remarks about how all the plots are predicated by characters being terrible at communication and acting stupidly, which is undeniably true.
