I don't think it's that important, but I'm sure Alex would ask why Eloise wanted to impersonate a man which could quickly lead to the collapse of her farcical revenge scheme.

Well usually in fiction when a character is talking about another character, especially if the former has a plan involving the latter, then the character being talked about feels a vague disturbance. Maybe you've heard the superstition that randomly sneezing means someone is talking about you? It's kind of like that, except more impending doom.

I suppose Alex (or Eloise) could easily pick it up as being transgender.
