Well, if we're going to be boringly logical about trivia - Sandra's boozing may have lead her into one good habit; knocking back a lot of warer in the morning. So her anti-hangover measure may help her when she's not been heavily on the piss, but the weather is tropical.

Or perhaps she's been hiding among the trees, while Lavali has been sunbathing for hours in the open.

Or perhaps Lavali is more imaginative than the slightly dim-witted Sandra, and that part of her brain is generating these hallucinations.
