Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree is out now. I enjoyed it very much; was smiling and laughing the whole time. The animation quality has gone up a few notches, it has good music, and it's so nice to get out of that high school.


I like the dynamic between Sunset and Twilight, especially with Sunset growing into such an empathetic person, figuratively and literally now.

Minor quibbles: I was a little disappointed that the villain turned out to just be a well-intentioned person who got in over her head. Again. I like stories with actual evil villains, and I feel like the show/movies haven't had a good one in a while. The climatic power-up costume change was also kind of a wtf moment for me. A few scenes felt too exposition-y and Twilight's arc didn't quite have the emotional punch I was hoping for. But none of that really detracted from my enjoyment.
So, an enjoyable experience on the whole, but Rainbow Rocks is still my favorite.

I follow their work, its not just the art thats great but the scenes they depict. I loved the socks set and especially the "bed head cranky princesses" series
