Ying Yang. Its a descriptive of things not of physical sex. Different set of assumptions entirely, but please don't appropriate the terms for western sexual politics. Thats just in bad and disrespectful taste. It is alright to use it as inspiration for a new set of concepts and new purpose altogether.
The only problem with going this route is there would have to be acknowledgement of differences between the two. Unlike where in American society the idea of "equality" really means "forcing everyone into the role and mold of whats expected of a white male while rallying against him" sort of thing.
I was actually rather thinking of the millions of people that don't want to have sex now or in the future. Although lesbians also might not desire penetrative sex either. You used it in a way so as to only imply sex. Otherwise someone like me has no desire to either be penetrated or to penetrate yet I still have a sex and a gender separate from who I want to have sex with and how I look.
Edit: Also, it might sound better if you used such things as passive/dominant instead of directly referring to sex. It wouldn't cause people to think of sex, which is what you were obviously talking about despite wanting to claim otherwise.

That one's easy: it's because it sounds disgusting. Society's got nothing to do with that. ~Gotoh
Meh, for all we know, Ace was simply the closest male. Perhaps the fact that Blair knew him played a role too. Or the fact that Ace is a cryptid. Many possibilities.

Not during the explosion. Ace was the only one (non-girl) right there when Blair went kaboom. Proximity can definitely be a factor. I'm not claiming that it's certainly the factor, but it's at least a reasonable possibility/explanation.
@CFT: All we can see in that link are Ace and Brooke, so we can't tell who's standing next to them there. In the one I linked to, we can see more of the crowd and there were at least two other guys present.
I'm pretty sure it's just a matter of Ace being the designated 'victim' though.

Why Layla subtle in her appearance when she changes but not Ace/Blair?
Thought Blair was a ghost?
