As much as I somewhat enjoyed Dillon in MA3 his teasing bordered on sexual harassment and wasn't really funny. :/ More assholey.

But thankfully he really does respect Gary's sexuality and feelings. :3

New comic, fine. Completely new character as well would just be confusing.

I like the fact that Dillon though he likes to tease him, acknowledged and respects the fact that Gary isn't gay.

Acknowledges, yes. He's always seemed to be aware of that fact. Respects? Respect is as respect does. Dillon's problem, as a character, was always that he tended not to show a lot of respect for Gary's preferences when Gary was around - to a degree that moved from "cute teasing" to "aggravating harassment".

Which made Dillon a bit of an ambiguous character in Ma3. Going by the boards, too many readers just didn't like him. Presumably, the theory with him having a comic of his own is that he can get a lot of screen time without Gary being around, so he doesn't have to act like a deluded creep so much of the time, so he can function as the sympathetic protagonist.

Which may him into an annoying twerp whenever he was around Gary. Hopefully, in his own comic, we'll see less of that nonsense.

As to admitting it to Amber - I'd assume that fact fell out of their last meeting with Gary, fairly unavoidably.
