Even if it is true that they were already bi, the fact remains that Dio strongly wanted to go back home. Now one zap later and he is willing to give it all up for a person whose name he didn't even know at the time? To me that is the real sad part of this that needs clarifying more than the question of their preferences as the latter can be rendered moot by them already being bi.

More and more, I'm learning to appreciate the way that the comic trolls the forums.

Well...
THAT'S certainly no less awkward than it was the first time.

Aww, "Time for crawlies," is adorable.
Also, Brooke lost the leash. Seth is going to crawlies away.

Heh. Seth could have slithered out of that leash anytime he wanted to, anyway. ^^

That's kinda his purpose. He's more Brooke's equivalent to Layla's'skullpin most of the time.Kradeiz wrote:
Also nice to see Seth given a little bit of attention again; he's sorta been just 'there' without mention for quite awhile. Ever since his kiss with Chloe, come to think of it.
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Well, I think a lot of that comes out of this being fiction, and conversion therapy being real and destructive. I mean, a love ray blasting enemies into a couple, or a love potion, or whatever is a not unheard of trope. That it's two guys instead of an opposite gender couple just seems like small latkes.Gil Hamilton wrote:For a community that probably consistently agrees that gay conversion therapy is abhorrent, you guys are awful happy about this Dio/Ash thing. ;)
The notes of this paradoxalist do not end here, however. He could not refrain from going on with them, but it seems to us that we may stop here. - Fyodor Dostoevsky, Notes from Underground (trans. C. Garnett)

I thought the opposite is caled "sensitivity training" and as such addressing a presumed hivemind with an assumption that it doesn't see it as completely different simply doesn't make much sense.
Either way, it's beside the point. As pointed out above by FrostDancer81 and Varanus, right now this particular mess looks more like a complete personality transplant.

I think Brooke wants to break up Dio and Ash, just so she can kiss one of them. ;-)

I see that Seth already chased a few minds in the gutter.

The more noisy and redundant posters have gone in my Foe file to keep the colored-text posters company. I only see echoes of them quoted by other people, but it's more than enough for me to be able to find glee in their foaming-spittle outrage.TBeholder wrote:More and more... I doubt it even needs to.
Oh, and for those out there that think that this is some horrible crossing of some moral event horizon for them to be "changed" this way:
- Too bad. So sad.
- Dio was all talk in his courting behavior and held himself very aloof. Seemed to be interesting in marrying for duty/status only. Easy for him to have been gay all along.
- Ash's heterosexual urges were fully documented, so he might have always been strictly hetero, however he was going to an all-boys academy, and the "Everyone's gay/bi at a same-sex school" field might be in place there as well.
- And before the argument is made, he might have declined Kade's advances more out of transphobia than anything else.
- We have no idea about the scope or length of that spell Mel cast, and neither does anyone else. The spell might have been a momentary amity charm that simply removed the hostility and allowed the attraction to surface. Or it could be a thorough and permanent re-write of their entire personalities. We don't have enough info on the wand and the spell and Mel's power and et cetera to know. All we can do is speculate.

In the words of another webcomic: "Now kiss" (sweeps hands together). It had to work somewhere.
