I was wearing my Rainbow Dash shirt today. Mom and I ran errands around town and while we were at Wal-Mart, this little boy taps his big brother on his shoulder, looking at me, pointed, and kept pointing. Big brother stared. I stared back.

POSSIBLE fledgling bronies? Probably not, but still it was amusing. "LOOK SHE HAS A CARTOON SHIRT JUST LOOK AT THE CARTOON" (no one actually said anything, but that's how I imagine his thoughts in my mind) I was amused.

Out of curiosity, which RD shirt is this? Maybe its coolness, awesomeness, and/or radicalness was just too much for him. :)

Linked for size: BronyCon pic of Tara Strong, Lauren Faust, and John de Lancie in Twi, Celestia, and Discord hats. According to Reddit, this is from a special private Q & A for those who donated $500+ to the BronCon documentary on Kickstarter. Fortunately, it's since made it onto YouTube. Haven't watched it yet, but the Reddit comments indicate some interesting previously-unknown (to me anyway) factoids. Like how Rarity was originally conceived as the Element of Inspiration, but this was changed because it might be too hard for kids to understand.

That's a rather....intense Twilight Sparkle. :-s Also, obligatory :x for humanized Fluttershy.

Speaking of Facebook, there's an app that converts it into the theme of your favourite pony. I downloaded Chrome just for this (it won't work with Explorer) and I don't regret it for a second. Not when Princess Luna announces "Huzzah!!" whenever a notification shows up. :D

Ponies are getting people to switch from IE to better browsers that release more frequent updates? Just one more reason to love them. :D

In case you missed it, there's been some more refreshingly positive news coverage.

That's supposed to be the Roman goddess Epona creating the sisters to watch over Equestria. Given the strong resemblance, does that mean Lauren Faust is Epona's version of Jesus? :-?

Epona was stolen by the Romans from the Celts. . .who also stole their word 'equus' from the Celts. Epona was one of the most revered Goddesses in the Celtic pantheon.

I remember seeing the pencil sketch for this somewhere in this thread. Now that it's in colour, I feel even worse for laughing at it. :))

I was just going from the dA description. I've forgotten most of what I ever knew about Classical mythology, so thanks for the refresher. :)

A couple of fic recommendations:
  • I don't typically ship TwiPie, but Like an Unexpected Song is unexpectedly good so far. Currently two chapters into a story of unknown length, at this point it's mostly a prologue that recaps the development of their relationship over the course of the show's first two seasons.
  • "Winter Wrap-Up in Hell" is a short and hilarious bit of fandom satire. Satan becomes a brony and overhauls Hell to fit his new obsession. The reactions of the Princes of Hell and Horsemen of the Apocalypse to the glorious new order are among my favorite bits. :))
