There are monsters, and then there are monsters. There are vampires, werewolves, zombies, yetis, deep ones, and all the assorted ilk.

There are also those who are all too human. And all too inhuman in their actions.

Because that means that the Zombiepocalyse has begun.

No, it means that people have stopped reading the comic. For every one person who comments in a forum, positive or negative, many more read the comic and never post. Trivialize it however you like. Doesn't change what I said.

No, but old Chloe had no idea that those two were being anything other than just nice to her. New Chloe -- without any new input -- discerns their true motives, mentally deems them "clowns", and incorporates them in her revenge against Layla.

So apparently the Doompanties also give you insight into interpersonal behavior that you had never even considered before, a thick layer of cynicism and contempt, and a complete divorce from your previous standards of behavior.

Who is this new character, and why does she look vaguely like Chloe? :-\

Well who wouldn't like a nice girl-next-door succubus? The old Chloe was a perfect male fantasy. I wouldn't be surprised if Giz and/or Dave came to the same conclusion and decided it was time to do something about it.

This is unfair! I miss Shy Chloe, I want her back. Why must Bad Chloe be so cool and sexy? >_<

Actually, I find her about as attractive as a guard dog or a tiger that is - for now - lying still and just watching you. It may look all elegant and pretty, but you know that the instant you put a toe wrong, it's going to end in terror, running and bloodshed. And you're not armed.
The crazy will bust loose. Either in the stories or on the forum. Or both at the same time.

Mad theory: Eulice is actually a retired succubus. This explains why she says DiDi Chastel looks like she did in her younger years. She maintains her current form because it allows her to get through her day without having to turn down sexual advances.

Old Chloe was cute and likable because she was pathetic. That was about as good for her as what what she's being now.

We've seen her repress herself to the point of lovezombiefying the entire school cause of the bat hearts accumulated.

Shes embraced her true nature as a conniving, seducing succubi. Being insightful like this should be like walking for a deers fawn

I repeat, what is she doing is way out of line even by succubus standards. If it wasn't, she wouldn't need to dispose of her mother.

For example, trying to seduce Layla's fiancé is one thing. But making Layla cook for them by exploiting her addiction to succubus blood is highly cruel, and unnecessarily so. New Chloe isn't morally questionable, she's outright reprehensible.

Chloe is definitely due for a crash and burn at the end of the arc, but she still owes Layla one for the whole Blair thing. The dinner scene was proportionate; the Blair scrub brush was a step too far.
I'm still thinking that Chloe will either get to the verge of getting everything she wants and not be able to be that one iota meaner to finish it off, or she will get everything she wants and not like it, because of what she did to get it.

Alternately, she loses all her friends, and mama tells her "Well, honey, you became a bitch, and no one likes a bitch. That's what I meant when I said you weren't ready."

I'm not sure you can safely make that assumption. Chloe could be keeping her mother locked up for any number of reasons, such as no longer wishing to submit to a higher authority, or because she saw her mother as a threat to her new power when she tried to make her give up the DP, or just because she has the ability to do so. Perhaps they have some unresolved issues.

And there is always the possibility that Adora is the one who is the exception to the rule and doesn't act properly succubussy...

All I can say is let us all be patient and let this storyline pan out before we condemn everything...

Well, if Adora is the exception, that just means that in the EC universe, succubi don't have to act like that - just like vampires don't have to kill. Even if Chloe is just doing what is her nature is still no excuse for her behavior, because she could choose not to.

I said several times that I feel that the monsters defying their nature is a major theme in this strip. I'd be disappointed if it turned out that they don't actually have a choice.

It would be nice if Nina had an important role in a storyline again.
