In a way, this does sound like an insult to the writer's intelligence.... not saying it is, but read in a certain way, sounds kinda like it.

Spidrift means well, he just writes in a very blunt manner. Like, +10 bonus to maces blunt.
It's funny that Eva actually kept her word and took her back, I expected her to just kick Marie out after having her fun. Judging from the twins' tab, she is spending more time and money than you'd expect for petty vengeance. Maybe she does see something worth the investment.
