I actually feel bad for Alex, no sarcasm here. It doesn't matter Eloise is a supermodel. It still sucks to be roped into sexual situations by someone taking advantage of your inexperience. Having no control over these situations is quite the contrary of a young nerd's dream come true.
I dunno; not all young nerds are wannabe-alphas. There’s a certain appeal to the idea that one person involved in the scene knows what she’s doing. Or just that one is so irrestible that members of the opposite sex hurl themselves at one’s virginal body.

Not saying that this is Alex’s dream come true, just that he may have some problems getting sympathy from his peers.

Is it? I didn’t think we knew what Christophe’s surname was.

There’s a name on the back of his jersey in the soccer game.

Thanks. You can tell how much attention I don’t pay to details in sports.

(I won’t ask why an anglophone character has a French name.)

I could name any number of English speaking actors and actresses with French surnames. :-? But characters might be somewhat harder. The only one I can come up with off the top of my head would be Hermione Granger. And I'd say that only half counts.

From the EC-verse: The Delacroix Family.

In TV or movies i remember:

Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: Next Generation
Calleigh Duquesne from CSI: Miami
Stephen Colbert, i know that's his real name, but he used it also as his character name in The Colbert Report.

Does Jean Valjean counts? i know the character from Les Miserables is full French, but in the movies both Liam Neeson and Hugh Jackman spoke full English.

Depends how far you stretch your definition. I mean, if you go far enough back, things like "Pertwee" apparently imply French-Huguenot ancestry... But "Tilleux" is distinctly French, to English ears; I have never encountered anyone with that surname. For that matter, "Christophe" is a French form; I've known loads of Christophers, but no Christophes.
But characters might be somewhat harder. The only one I can come up with off the top of my head would be Hermione Granger. And I'd say that only half counts.
Uh, nope. "Hermione" (if that's what you mean)has long since been absorbed into English naming -- and anyhow, I think it's classical Greek in origin. It's a bit fancy to modern ears, but it wasn't unknown even before Ms. Rowling brought it back into vogue. And "Granger" is downright Anglo-Saxon.

Canadian - and, being vampires, presumably very old-money Eurotrash.
Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: Next Generation
Wasn't he supposed to be bilingual Canadian? Apart from which, he was named after a famous family of Swiss-French explorers.
Calleigh Duquesne from CSI: Miami
I'm insufficiently familiar.
Stephen Colbert, i know that's his real name, but he used it also as his character name in The Colbert Report.
Canadian again, I believe...
Does Jean Valjean counts?
No. He's French, of course he has a French name.

If the answer to the question I avoided asking is "Christophe is anglophone Canadian, which is why he's at this school, but his family have francophone ancestry, and have a tradition of old family first names", that's fine, if a little contorted.

Quote mess fixed. The DAMNed

Jean-Luc Picard is French. His family had vinyards in France, not Canada

Stephen Colbert is of French descent. But he is an American (born in S Carolina), not Canada

Picard is French, born in La Barre, the thing is, i didn't remember that in the Star Trek-verse the French language has become obscure.

Caleigh Duquesne is from Louisiana so the last name makes sense.

Funny. When the target of such a snark is a woman, it's suddenly sexist. When it's a guy, it's perfectly acceptable and the guy is obviously a spineless pussy. Nope, no sexual assault here, he should be grateful, the clueless nerd!

This. This is why I don't read the forums much anymore.

And when you do, you put a three-month lag on it, so we're all properly prepared for your thread-necromantic wisdom.

Not just that, you had three months to figure out what I meant, and still managed to misinterpret it.
