Hmm... I was starting to think that maybe Aaina was a secret agent and the necklace was recovered rather than stolen by her. But if she seems freaked out by the police arriving, then maybe she really is a thief...

Even secret agents have to keep their activities a secret. And getting hauled in by some street police on a robbery charge would look incredibly bad in her reports, even if they let her go once her bosses cleared things up.

But thief is still the more likely occupation.

I'd say "no one steals from me! Especially an amateur" is a very good clue too.

Yeah, I think that we can safely assume that WYSIWYG at this point. Also, that Aaina is a trifle schizophrenic. And that my guess that we're about to get a "Hey, that's the necklace that was stolen recently! Congratulations on recovering it!" moment is a solid if not certain bet - which probably means that the unfortunate amateur is about to get lucky and be allowed to run off to serve as the scapegoat.

Oh, and do French police sirens really go "Piiin Pooon Piiin Pooon"?

It does seem set up for that, doesn't it? But isn't that sort of improbable really? I mean, didn't Aina just steal the thing? Would the owner even be aware yet that it's missing, much less have reported it?

Oh well.

If Aaina did this properly, she may have lifted it from the owner’s neck. Or at least, from their dressing table just before a big party.

Anyhow, you’re talking probabilities with this comic?

Aaina is incredibly agile, had an expensive collar with her, calls a robber an "amateur" and seems scared of police sirens...

Professional cat burglar detected.

They certainly did at some point, but I think it's not as pronounced as it used to be.

I can't believe people's guess about Aaina is true. Wow.

Hardly a guess. More an “Oh that’s what they’re saying.”

I'm rather amused at myself. I read these comics in real time and totally missed out the whole cat burglar schtick. It's like I'm reading it for the first time now...
