Re: 2017-09-01 Could not possibly have gone better
The forums have been returning a lot of error messages lately, and slow most of the rest of the time - and the actual comics have been glitching too. Whoever at Pixietrix deals with the hosting service should probably be yelling at them by now. (I wonder if this is linked to the lack of archives and failed links, too. But we digress.)
Anyhow - this strip has Sandra being a little bit idiotic, n'est pas? I know she may well be on a high after a good audition, but the situation is hardly complicated. And her panel 3 dialogue slips over from "thoughtless" to "ostentatiously rude".

That was just... Wow, Sandra. And you don't even have alcohol to fall back on as an excuse this time. Congratulations on being a bitch to you good friend over there by pure force of thoughtlessness.
Is this what Eva was counting on happening, I wonder? If not, what exactly was the point of all that?

The whole thing was more like, Sandra actually forgot there was no one else in the room but Mary and she only remembered it at panel 4 when she saw the whole room empty and it was just her and Mary. (like Spidrift said, she was too high on such a well-done audition, she forgot her previous situation and that's why I drew her eyes closed for the first 3 panels and she only opened it on the 4th)

I wonder if this was also Eva's doing. Eliminate the competition until it's just Sandra and Marie and give the job to Sandra as a way of making Marie more dependent on Eva to boost her self esteem as well drive a wedge between them. Master antagonist if so, but like Spidrift estimated she really has to be burning through every favor she's got in the industry to get all this done.

I see. It can be hard to figure things like that out without voice acting or something else to establish how excited she is. I don't think I've seen her grinning like that when not three sheets to the wind.Eisu wrote: ↑Thu Oct 19, 2017 11:51 pmThe whole thing was more like, Sandra actually forgot there was no one else in the room but Mary and she only remembered it at panel 4 when she saw the whole room empty and it was just her and Mary.
