I think Eva would rock a live action Cruella de Vil role, just saying.

Not any variety of WoD, no. Unknown Armies. Which tends to be a slightly better fit to the Ma3 universe generally, if only for the lower personal power levels.vampire hunter D wrote:[Ok, I dont recognise the term "godwalker". How can that be? Are you still talking WoD?
(If The Geek is among the Invisible Clergy - and surely he must be - then Gary was walking that path until someone dragged him through the House of Renunciation around strip #50 or so. Jung is still channeling The Geek just fine, having checked the small print and determined that it doesn't preclude him getting laid, provided that it's by another geek. And gods know what archetype or style of magic Matt is using, but it works great for him, while DiDi is apparently the godwalker for The Bimbo.)

Another apple and oranges comparison. You're really not getting it.Gotoh wrote:
Have you ever seen 'Ranma ½'?

Eva's and Eloise Goals are incompatible, Eva wants to poach Sandra and Marie from Zoé and ruin Zoé's career. Eloise wants to ruin Sandra's career and become Zoé's new protege. Do you see the issue now? Ruining Sandra's career does not benefit Eva and ruining Zoé's does not benefit Eloise.
Ryoga and Ukyo had the same goal, Ranma's engagement to Akane, it's not conflicting at all.
So again, your example just helps prove my point.

Since you missed the point of the analogy entirely: Ranma = ZoéCortez wrote:Eva's and Eloise Goals are incompatible,

- Eloise admires her, Eva doesn't/Ukyo's in kove with Ranma, Ryoga wants to curbstomp him.
- Their goals conflicted. If Ryoga beat the sh!t out of Ranma, there'd be nothing left of him for Ukyo to get engaged to. Much like your argument against Eva and Eloise teaming up.
- Yet, despite their opposing viewpoints of Ranma, Ryoga and Ukyo still found common ground and formed a partnership.

I think what Cortez is saying is that Eva and Eloise doesn't have any common ground and I agree... Eva wants to bring down Zoe by bringing in Sandra and Marie, Zoe's proteges under her wing and corrupting them... Eloise wants to destroy Sandra completely... with Eloise wanting this, it conflicts with Eva's need to corrupt Zoe's protege cos if Sandra's destroyed, there's nothing to corrupt... at the same time, Eloise looks up to Zoe as her idol and bringing down Zoe is just not in Eloise's mnd at all... Ukyo and Ryoga have a common ground which is the engagement they want to break but these two? There is no common ground to be found between Eva and Eloise currently... now, key word here is CURRENTLY... maybe they'll find one in the future? But I'm not the writer, so I dunno, plus, it's kinda too predictable to go down this route... all I can say is let's just wait and see what Dave does down the line.
And the way I see it, if Eva finds out about Eloise's need to destroy Sandra, she'll probably do all she can to stop Eloise rather than help her cos she needs Sandra to take down Zoe so she doesn't want Sandra destroyed, she wants Sandra under her wing. If Eloise destroys Sandra, there's no killing two birds with one stone there at all nor does Eva benefit from it.

I get what you and Cortez are saying. I even mentioned that, 'cuz it parallels the analogy I used.Eisu wrote:Eloise wants to destroy Sandra completely... with Eloise wanting this, it conflicts with Eva's need to corrupt Zoe's protege cos if Sandra's destroyed, there's nothing to corrupt... at the same time, Eloise looks up to Zoe as her idol and bringing down Zoe is just not in Eloise's mnd at all.
Ryoga wanted to destroy Ranma too, whereas Ukyo wanted to marry him. If Ryoga had gotten his way, there would've been no more Ranma (thus, Ukyo's wedding plans would go kaputt). The same as with what you and Cortez are saying about why Eva and Eloise's plans currently don't align.
Cortez is looking at things as they are now, as if it's set in stone. I'm not saying I expect Eva and Eloise to hit it off right from the start - only that plans often change.

There's still no common ground, cos with Ukyo and Ryoga, their common ground is to break Ranma and Akane's engagement. Eva and Eloise has no goal in common. At all.

Basixally we have multiple plots in action that may wind up working against each other. When really they should all put aside their differences to wirk against their one common enemy

They both want revenge and the ones they're each plotting against happen to be working together.Eisu wrote:Eva and Eloise has no goal in common. At all.

But it's still not COMMON revenge. It's not revenge against the SAME person... it's two DIFFERENT goals... Ukyo and Ryoga has a COMMON goal of breaking Ranma and Akane's engagement... that is ONE goal...

Again, NOT their ONE common enemy... Eva vs Zoe and Eloise vs Sandra... those are two different enemies... but yes, multiple plots in action that may wind up working against each other is true...vampire hunter D wrote:Basixally we have multiple plots in action that may wind up working against each other. Akane didn't become a factor for Ryoga 'til much later.Eisu wrote:But it's still not COMMON revenge. It's not revenge against the SAME person... it's two DIFFERENT goals... Ukyo and Ryoga has a COMMON goal of breaking Ranma and Akane's engagement... that is ONE goal...
Had Ukyo focused solely on, 'this guy wants to kill my fiancee' she never would have teamed up with Ryoga. Instead, she found a compromise, one where she and Ryoga could both get what they wanted without Ranma having to die.
If her plans had worked, Ryoga would get Akane, which would have allowed him to get his revenge against Ranma a different way other than killing him. You're honestly saying Eva and Eloise couldn't put their heads together and come up with a similar solution to their problems?

I apologize, I totally missed that ^^;;;vampire hunter D wrote:(um, that was just a set up for a Monty Python joke)
By the time Ukyo came into the scene Akane HAS become a factor for Ryoga! Ryoga's already head over heels for Akane before Ukyo even appeared in the series. I mean, Ryoga was already in love with Akane in volume 2 of the book. Ukyo appeared in Vol. 9! You're getting your "much later" mixed up.Gotoh wrote:Akane didn't become a factor for Ryoga 'til much later.
Yes... as co-author of the comic, I am saying that... point that me and Cortez are making, since the start, is that these two, as of current state, do not have a COMMON reason to work together, whereas Ryoga and Ukyo does... that was our point the WHOLE time... your argument is in the assumption that down the line, something will come up that will make them have the common reason but you don't know that! We're talking about what there is NOW... in the future, different story.Gotoh wrote:You're honestly saying Eva and Eloise couldn't put their heads together and come up with a similar solution to their problems?
