Hah! So Alex was upset because Eloise didn't stick to her character class canon, not because "Jean" kissed him.

Though clearly it seems he enjoyed "Jean's" kiss.

I wonder how much of this is part of Eloise's plan and how much of this is due to her frustration of not being able to get her rocks off.

It really is either very sad or very fortunate that Shakespeare didn't have VR to work into comedy plots.

Also, very non-obstructive visors. Also, poor confused Alex, whatever ensues. Though anybody geeky enough to deliver that speech in panel 2 may be beyond help anyway, and anyway, he doesn't really seem to have noticed the problem.

No VR, but magic potions gave much the same effect.

I don't remember any magic potions in the WS canon. Cross-dressing usually does the job. (Not surprisingly given the original casting.)

Dave's coffee mug must be printed with the words "Tears of Eloise/Nadine fans".

First Nadine's sperm-fest with the whole male school, now this. Heh. B-)

okay, I get it from Eloise she thinks "I am kissing the hot female dark elf" and not a guy

but Alex's eagerness only makes sense IF the sky paladin character is female

thus in Alex mind

he is kissing a girl at VR ( as he does not realize he is with an actual girl )

Ah but the character that he is playing is female, thus it is "totes not gay". The RP scenario that is playing out is between a male and female character thus heterosexual regardless who is dictating the action of each character. This is a common justification that many rpers, myself included, have used, especially at Alex's age. "It's not me, it's just my character."

Now, that being said, what most of those rps have in common is some form of barrier between the rpers and the characters, be it a piece of paper or a computer screen. With VR that barrier is weakened then add onto the fact that there is actual physical contact from someone else and it's weakened even further if not broken completely.

This is so new to Alex, and would be to a lot of RPers since vr is still extremely niche, that he defaults to his normal stance with little thought about what this might say about himself. He's still young and if he keeps RPing, that introspection should come, and if he keeps RPing like this, it will come even sooner I think. But that's just my opinion on the matter.

"it's way less gay this way"

IS IT!?

It does seem like Eloise is just wanted to kiss the Dark Elf though.

Yeah, she looks genuinely confused and uncertain here. I don't think she knew enough about VR games to plan this in advance, and she doesn't know Alex well enough to know if this will pan out in her favour. She just thought that the dark elf was hot, and apparently doesn't mind the look of Alex in the real world either, and she's sexually frustrated just now, so she reflexively went for the kiss.

I might have known that was the reason...

I can't wait to see how this all blows up. :)

Eloise doesn't seem completely averse to these happenings unless she is just good at acting, I'm wondering if she will get so into the situation she may fall out of character entirely.
