Hah! I knew that was gonna come up when I was drawing this strip! They have very different hairs, you know. Just have to look carefully. (also eyes, but I gave up on telling people this cos people don't even think I draw different eyes anymore, so meh)

I mean, I've put side by side pictures of them, you'll see very different hairs. (though, the slight variation of eyes are not as evident in these examples, hah!)

Heh. Blame that on the manga/anime effect. There's a reason why at least one generic RPG called androgynous appearance "Bishonen Look".

I don't have a problem telling the difference, but I think I need a refresher on why these 2 have <> in between all their dialogue.

They are speaking French, so its shorthand for speaking non-english

They live in France so I would think they'd be speaking French all the time.

It's established that (a) this is an English-language school, so people speaking French on the premises are the exception, and anyway, (b) location notwithstanding, English is the default language in the comic, so any other language is flagged by the "<>". Those are simply the well-established rules.

Also why Pierre always speak with those < >

Looking back, I just realized we missed one strip with Pierre's dialogue doesn't have those < >... but one can argue in that strip, he spoke in English cos of Sandra, but only for that particular moment.
