Zoé plainly said Cammi's a lesbian and that Domenico was the only guy she's switched teams for, which Cammi acknowledged. There's a trope that covers that and she isn't the first Pixietrix character it's applied to.
Either that or Cammi swore up and down that she was a lesbian until Domenico proved she had some bi curiosity and Zoe is reminding her of that.

I don't want to sound rude, but all these efforts to define someones sexual preference seem so useless to me.
Isn't it common sense that you fall for a person and not for their gender? I mean sure, you can construct statistics from what happened so far and try to define someone (or yourself) on this basis. Yeah. Now you know which genders they have slept or had relationships with. Cool.

And now? What's the benefit of defining a number on a scale or a word to describe the PREVIOUS sexual behavior of a person? Nobody knows what happens tomorrow, you can never exclude falling for someone or feeling attracted to someone who doesn't match your previous "pattern". There are so many factors influencing this.

It's like trying to find out if someone prefers black jeans over white skirts and label them as "black jeaners" or "white skirters". It doesn't define them, they could change they preference every day and the impact on your life is small or even non-exsistent. Even if YOU are a pair of black jeans or a white skirt - you/anyone could just totally not be their type.

Also, just because you are totally into girls it doesn't mean that you're not into yaoi (@brasca), which I don't find so surprising. I know more than a few girls who like the special vibe of yaoi-romance or even get turned on by male gay porn. Girls you would label gold stars and who are in relationships with other girls.

Most lesbians prefer yuri though. For obvious reasons.

Agreed. But I was referring to the "least likely to sign up to Ruby's club". Following the forum logic, wouldn't that be Domenico? Or Tatiana?

Hmm - I'm now trying to remember where Cammi picked up that Lavali was lesbian. Not a big deal, and she may just have excellent gaydar (or it happened off-screen), but whatevs.
brasca wrote:And I just want to say this right now. If Domenico isn't intimidated by Zoe in the last panel then he's not eccentric he's insane.
Ah, yes - Zoé going all beautiful and terrible as the morn. All shall love her and despair.
Cortez wrote:Seriously though, Cammi would make a great detective.
She's sharp and quick-witted, certainly, especially by the standards of the Ma3 universe. (For what that's worth.) Her character tag is something like "streetwise". But "Tatiana was in a swimming costume, and I saw a palm tree"... As clues go, those are actually a bit blunt.

'Fall for' is making a LOOOOT of assumptions :P Cammi seems to be one of those 'casual sex is good sex' type of people.

Pure 1st wave sexual attraction tends to be fairly selective, and usually what leads to a person trying to define their sexuality. Our best bet is that either Domenico is indeed the 'exception' or Cammi was one of them people who were in an experimentation phase, one side always turned out better than the other during those experiments and she defined herself as a lesbian because of that.

Or, you know. She had a 'boobs are chic' phase because of her friends, like Marie. People do things sometimes just because they're a trend.

Not like it matters, everyone will be bisexual(ish) in the end, anyway. Except token gay and token straight characters, which are rarer than rare.

As such Cammi is likely bisexual, but with a preference for women.
Boom, Science.
  • 0 — Attracted to the opposite sex only, and not to the same sex at all.
  • 1 — Attracted to the opposite sex mostly, with some attraction to the same sex.
  • 2 — Attracted to both sexes, with a general preference towards the opposite sex.
  • 3 — Attracted to both sexes, with no particular preference for one over the other.
  • 4 — Attracted to both sexes, with a general preference towards the same sex.
  • 5 — Attracted to the same sex mostly, with some attraction to the opposite sex.
  • 6 — Attracted to the same sex only, and not to the opposite sex at all.
  • X — Non-sexual, no attraction to any sex.

Incidentally that's also where I find myself.
I'd argue sexuality is one of these marshes and minefields where all attempts at science so far were just attempts. Kinsey's scale is a good measurement but hardly a great/perfect one, with people arguing how to define sexual attraction and demisexuality as well. Some people identify as perfectly bisexual but claim to only be homo/heteroromantic, some only fall for one of the genders after forming an emotional connection but are fine having casual sex with the other, some are speshul snowflakes, and some believe themselves to be one end of the spectrum until they end up being proven otherwise by circumstance.

Not that I oppose you using Kinsey's scale, since that's what I usually would do as well, it's more like I'm arguing if this counts as 'science' already, in terms of being accurate :P.

I stumbled upon this lovely little novelty last night, and it actually validated my long-standing self-diagnosis as a solid 4.

The only real problem I have with Kinsey's scale is that it's still a scale. Meanwhile, sexuality turns out to be closer to a 3D sphere or polyhedron with a lot of things that need to be taken into consideration. Some people will sleep with almost any human with a pulse regardless of gender, others will do that but *not* if it's casual sex, meanwhile some will only ever attempt caual sex with a 'supreme' specimen of cis-gender female or male. Like I mentioned, some will only attempt casual sex with one gender but freely participate in serious-er relationships with both at roughly equal intensity. Some are attracted to femininity or masculinity and care about genitals and/or sexual identity and some don't. Some feel strong sexual attraction immediately and some develop it over time along with an emotional connection.

Kinsey's scale is best answer to 'Am I gay, straight, or bi', but it seems likely that these aren't the most accurate anwer anymore. The problem is more with the people themselves becoming more varied rather than the viewpoint originally being wrong, however.
I'm probably inbetween 0.5 out of 6 and 1.5 out of six. So hard to define! D:

Probably because she knows Lavali has a picture of her *** stored on her cellphone. We didn't get to see when Lavali took the pic, but I'm guessing Cammi must've noticed, given Lavali fails at subtlety.

I doubt that people are actually becoming more varied, somehow. I may be wrong - shifts in culture may actually affect people's functional sexual orientation - but my gut feeling is that this stuff is too much (though never purely) genetic for the human race at large to become "more rigid" or "more varied".

What I suspect is happening is that the culture is making more people more relaxed about acknowledging a wider range of sexual interests, including passing impulses and shifts over time. Which is great, if only in the sense that it means that somebody who is genuinely functionally 100% straight or 100% gay doesn't have to have a nervous breakdown when they notice somebody of the "wrong" gender looking cute. In fact, variation has always been possible, from the stuff you got in Ancient Greece to situational sexuality in prisons and on ships.

So it looks like people are becoming (a bit) more varied (in some places), when in fact they're just more likely to admit it freely. But I may well be wrong. It does happen.

I can only agree with all of your points so far.

And also, I obviously used "to fall for so." wrong all these years. How embarrassing. That's what comes of it for not sticking to your first, second or third language, silly penguin!
So what I tried to say was "to feel attracted" (in German: "jemandem verfallen", i guess that's the explanation for my misunderstanding of the word).

PS: I'm amused that the Kinsey Scale Test doesn't stop loading and shows no result (only: You have completed the personality test.) for me. In my everyday life it's nothing with a great impact, but I have never identified as one or the other gender (took me a time to realise that, but as I said, the importance is rather minimal) so I went with "sex" just out of curiosity. Ha.

adding fact that many guys will not ever dream of being with Rob Lowe or Tom Selleck types of guys

but feel comfortable being with a very feminine and beautiful transsexual and with beautiful 100% women and with a tomboyish (yet beautiful ) woman

"The beach house"? Domenico is having a secret nude photograph session in a place Zoe probably knows? Talk about careless, Dom.
