That last panel.
Gary, run for your life. You don't want to be around Sandra when she's drunk.
Oh and I called it, Dark Matter Games has a branch in Montreal.

Yeah, that last panel isn't filled with foreboding or anything.

Hey, after 96 strips and the promise of the comic's title, it looks like we may finally see Sandra getting unwisely plastered! And probably on grossly expensive booze, which neither she nor Gary will probably appreciate, the barbarians.
One wonders what Gary's attitude to booze is now. He seems to have avoided it until this trip, but the slushies on the 'plane didn't actually lead to as bad consequences as he might have feared. Assuming that he realises now that they were alcoholic, of course. I can also see the next few strips featuring a lot of ship tease. heck, I wouldn't entirely rule out those two ending up in bed together (if perhaps being too blotto to consummate the deal), and then declaring it a one-off event, never to be spoken of again, with Sandra looking shame-faced as she purchases her morning croissant and Gary looking confused as he gets on the 'plane back to Montreal.
(Bonus points if Gary hits the booze again on the airliner to blunt his confusion and remaining fear of flying, and ends up in the toilets with a random female character from the next seat.)
Oh, and we note Sandra's invincible ignorance of fairly commonplace modern terms in panel 1. And her prom night dress from panel 4 looks to have been a trifle daring.

Ohhhhh, God
Gary, Alcohol, and a chick he could have the hots for?
This could either go Very Well for him, or VERY POORLY (I guess the latter )

To be honest, it's a bit of a weak call considering (and as I've mentioned in the previous strip's thread ;) ) that Montreal is well known as a major video game production centre. The game publishers even help finance the training of new talent at the local trade schools.zaprzapb wrote:Oh and I called it, Dark Matter Games has a branch in Montreal.

Please tell me that's the beginning of Miss Officer and Mr Truffles we're seeing. If they are them, that last panel is immensely adorable.

The kind that gets labelled "trying too hard" on the Hollywood red carpet. Though Halle Berry has worn something comparable.Quinlan1973 wrote:What the hell kind of prom dress is that????
I'm guessing that Sandra was going through a rebellious phase back then.

Assuming the Canadian legal system is anything like that of the US, as long as she stuck to that story, tha po-po wouldn't have been able to prove that she was driving, and the worst charge they would have been able to make stick would have been "public intoxication."
