I honestly thought shelmaliar was referencing either Wind Waker or Phantom Hourglass because in those, Zelda is a pirate and searches for treasure. Pirate Zelda is infinitely more entertaining and fun than her "Princess" self.

Agreed. Though I think part of that is that alternative (Tetra/Sheik) Zelda tends to be more entertaining and interesting because she is more proactive and (appears to be) more competent than I've-been-kidnapped Zelda. And that the "fantasy princess" stereotype is a little tired. =)

I agree with this so much. Her face is all kinds of cute in panel 3.

She seems like a Tomboy with that no dating attitude. That plus she might have developed a crush on Alex without realizing it until now. I'm beginning to think they are both dense when it comes to romance, not just Alex. Just guessing here that since girls mature faster then boys, her hormones might be calling for action more than Alex.

I predict Marie will be "acting strange" toward and around Alex before he gets a clue or (more likely) she will blurt out that she likes him at the worst possible moment.

Well . . yeah . . . rape is rape . . . but, she could still take action . . . like saying "Help me out here. I'm in love with my best male friend, but he doesn't even notice I'm a woman.
