Re: 2013-10-29 Your bedroom floor
Alex' cluelessness is not necessarily far fetched - in my case at least. When I was 16, I was on my way home from school on the bus and a girl I knew slightly sat by me and her friend sat on the seat across the aisle. They then had a long, somewhat repetitive conversation about how they would both love to go to a dance that weekend but that the girl next to me had no-one to go with so neither of them could go. OK, I didn't particularly fancy her but I simply sat looking out of the window thinking it was a shame she didn't have a boyfriend......

Well Marie didn't punch and/or kick him and call him a pervert so that's a step in the right direction. Now Alex just needs to work on his Gary levels of cluelessness.

I still just want to know if these two are speaking English, or whether someone just neglected to put <pointy brackets> into their speech balloons.

Its amazing that Canada even has a population in his comic, as clueless as literally every person is in this comic universe is, it is a wonder procreation ever happens at all.

It's either having the weight of his slender but manly body pressing down on her for the first time since puberty ... or the hormonal surge caused by all the Sandra imagery she's been scarfing lately. (She's an Ma3-universe character. Don't tell me she's not at least potentially a Kinsey 1.)

Actually, Alex didn't wear glasses while at the video game tradeshow. When I designed him, I made it that the glasses are merely for reading and writing, not for seeing so most of the time, Alex doesn't really wear glasses.Absinthe Green wrote:Dirty Pool, old man!Eisu wrote:Here's another version that crossed my mind as I was drawing this strip (the one that appears here is the original script Dave wrote). Just as a note, we did not neglect to put the brackets in. They're just speaking English.Spidrift wrote:I still just want to know if these two are speaking English, or whether someone just neglected to put <pointy brackets> into their speech balloons.

Others are better equipped than me to judge Alex's sexual attractiveness, but I'd think that his style of adorkable cuteness is positively amplified by glasses. But I'm a sucker for the hot librarian look.
And thanks for the answer about the language. I won't start digging about whether they're exchange students, or this scene is taking place back in the UK after a Eurostar trip, or what; I'm sure that all will be revealed if it matters...

*smacks Alex with a Cluex12* I'd use my Bowie facepalm, but I seem to have lost it.

Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Not 100% certain, though they're certainly not in Canada. They're talking English among themselves, so they're apparently nbot French, but they evidently live somewhere they can reach from Paris within a few hours, maximum. They may be expats living in or near Paris, or Brits who got to that games show by Eurostar or short-haul airline.vampire hunter D wrote:They're in France actually
