Immediate response by a fan: "Of course, but she can't take all that stuff with her when she travels for her modelling work, so she had to re-buy it all. Otherwise she'd only have her 3DS and Vita to play with."Spidrift wrote:Hmm. Wouldn't Sandra being seen purchasing games stuff after the show suggest to at least some fans that she was a parvenu, just as she feared? After all, if she was for real, she'd have all that stuff already, wouldn't she?

Well no, she probably wouldn't. A lot of gamers only have one or two consoles at a time after all. Coming into money and taking advantage of being flush to get a new game system is something they can relate to.Spidrift wrote:Hmm. Hang on, we're talking real gamer attitudes here. She could, you know, sell plasma or make a porn film or mug little old ladies for the money...

Re: 2013-10-18 The real deal
Though some people might try and shout that Sandra is not a real gamer, the one thing she has going for her in each instance is that all the events are rather low-key. She was one of the few people in the store while buying games and there didn't seem to be any events going on in the museum. Were there a new release for a game or some special opening for the museum, then she could face the accusation that she is pandering and hoping to be recognized in the crowd.
And since you guys are talking about Josh, he did start up a new comic for those of you who weren't aware. The comic is definitely not safe for work, so be careful when reading it.

Well. considering this is a PG-13 board, thanks for the warning but I have "defused" the link somewhat. The DAMNed

he mention wonderful 101, and pikmin3 also. Also they could be accessory, more controller and such.BioYuGi wrote:Jeez, Gary definitely went overboard with how many games he made her buy. The Wii U at that point only had a couple games worth having. Mario, Lego City, Zombie U, a couple others. Definitely not that many games.
I really think it cute the way Marie is.

Small thing I noticed, in the last panel...is that the Transformers Generations series Metroplex on the desk? It certainly looks like one, mighty expensive figure that is.

...I honestly thought Alex was a girl until this strip. I went back and looked at the previous Alex & Marie appearances, and OK, I see how I was mistaken.

So Marie is an uber-geek that collects Transformers? I think we found Gary's soul mate.

Just wanna put out there that there's no determination in absolute conclusion in the present strip whether that is Alex or Marie's room. It could be Marie's room but it could also be she's just that familiar with Alex that she can roll around on his bed clutching his Mimzy Molar plushie.

...Or they could be shacked up and cute enough together that they don't mind sharing a single bed...
