Just wanna say to Spidrift, congrats on your 4000th post and I'm honoured that it was this forum that you contributed your 4000th post to ^o^ (unless the forum caps the number at 4000, then it's not really your 4000th post but the umpteenth time you've posted at the 4000th post.)

Edit: Nope, just checked other posters, they do not cap it at 4k so congrats Spidrift!

No Spidrift you have to continue to live up to your Avatar from that xkcd strip. I demand more pretentious arguments about fictional characters on the internet. :p

This strip made me laugh so good ! Nothing's better than Break The Haughty ! :ymdevil:
Oh, Senna, delusions to keep your ego untouched make you fall so hard...
It seems it won't stop. Senna's ego really is anything-proof if she doesn't tone it down a little. Makes me wonder, could she see Sandra as a worthy rival, later ?

Love Sandra's smug face in the second panel. :x

I don't think that Senna is interested in worthy rivals. She's not Sonya, who enjoys the excitement of the game; she just wants everything to go her way, all the time, as much as possible.

We've been missing a crucial issue; that giant plaid rug in Domenico's apartment.

PoMo ironic camp, or just really bad taste?

It's only bad taste if the rug doesn't match the rest of the decor - and Domenico doesn't seem the sort to do such a thing (or he has an interior designer to handle such things for him).

Could be either one - Domineco could have an eye for such things as a fashion photog, or if he could afford a good decorator if he didn't want to be bothered. I keep thinking that Gary's gonna end up dumped in Paris if he keeps fawning over Sandra like this, but then I remember #750 and suppose that Senna won't just hand him over to a perceived rival so easily. Still funny that her head looks like it'll explode in the last panel.

Funnily enough, while it's predictable that Senna would be annoyed fit to bust by this, and Gary might find himself stranded in Paris if he's not careful, I really don't think that he'd actually "betray" Senna, so far as he understands things. He's shown a working grasp of the basic idea that "cheating is bad" in the past, and he's already used the word "relationship" inside his own head about this situation. The poor, sweet, confused, old-fashioned boy.

He's being monstrously unthinking in the attention he's paying Sandra, of course, especially given that he knows that she and Senna have issues, and any sensible man would tell him that he was asking for trouble here, even given a far better woman than Senna, but if and when he comes back to Earth for a moment. it might well even be him that asks Senna if it's okay if he spends a significant chunk of time with Sandra. Hence, #750.

Of course, having played up the graciousness of her giving permission, Senna might just get bored and wander off to chase Pierre some more or something. One possibility I can see, if she appears to be making progress there, would be for Sandra and Gary to end up getting drunk together. Cue them falling into bed together (which some people seem to want), and then feeling horribly guilty...

But that's casual speculation. Still, if Gary's score sheet ever mounts up to two models - along with one hot rock chick, one cute student, and abortive oral attention from his two favourite porn stars - I'll put this comic down as pure male fantasy.

Said plaid rug (heck, angle and look) have appeared before, though this was during the ol' guest strip in MA3 days: http://www.sandraontherocks.com/strips- ... r_freckles

Who's to say that Gary even asked for her permission? For all we know, Senna 's whole 'I okayed this' spiel is simply her way of making herself feel like she had a say in the matter to begin with in order to save face, and not simply just going along with the idea because she knows she can't make Gary do as she wants (which would be to abandon Sandra and let her sink).

As for the Gary/Sandra potential hook up, I honestly hope it doesn't come down to the pair getting loaded, as the drunken sex romp 'joke' is getting rather tiring.

I could, however, see Sandra getting drunk over losing Pierre (if there was anything actually going on between them), but would rather see Gary staying sober and handling the situation in a more gentlemanly fashion (keeping an eye on Sandra and putting her to bed when she's utterly wasted).

If you listen closely, you can hear Senna's ego dying... ;)
I loved the smirk on Sandra's face in panel two. SO worth the wait!

I'm not saying that Gary did ask for permission before the #750 scene; I'm just saying that he might have, and it's one possibility for how that scene could arise. It'd be in character for him, and would give Senna the idea.

More drunk scenes ... will probably happen in some shape or form. Sandra's comic hasn't lived up to its title and Sandra's past record yet, while Gary may notice that getting blotto gave him the artificial confidence to do something that he wanted to do, but that freaks him out when he's sober - which would make it awfully tempting to repeat the exercise.

How such drunk scenes go is anyone's guess, but this is the Ma3 universe, so sex will doubtless be involved.

Gary acting like a gentleman isn't on the cards yet, I'm afraid. He can manage acting like a nice guy okay, and he'd probably do approximately the right thing in that situation, drunk or sober, but convincing gentlemanly style requires maturity and judgement. Not Gary attributes.
